“How? This is why I am here to kindly ask them about it,” the Empress said and laughed. “So now do you realise how important this is to us?”

“Then we must hurry and capture them!”

“Again, with your foolish thoughts,” the Empress said and smacked her forehead with the wooden fan. “Hurry where to exactly? We lost track of everything months ago, and it’s only now that the compass is showing signs of any movement.”

“Is the artefact already under their possession?”

“The exchange did not occur as intended, or so our spies muttered to me, and a lot of time has passed since then,” the Empress said and sighed, looking at the distant piece of land slowly coming into view. “Capturing them is the least of our worries, now retrieving the artefact comes first and foremost.”

Parthenope followed her gaze and asked, “Is that Ishoris?”
