The World She Created

Unknown to Rhune, Ahna, and even C6, the world called Castoreum started to change around them and was expanding. As it did, the memories of every human player and NPC changed so that they would not notice the changes.

Cities started to appear with specially tailored normal NPC, but they were the type you would find in any game with only one replay, but the Special Intelligent Non-Player Characters of Caster Online would not be able to come to these cities.

Maxtrix, the central A.I. program, was responsible for all of this, including the shifts to the Beta Players' minds and personalities. The creator of Matrix was Ryan, C6, but he was forced out of the company after saying that he was refusing to put Her into Caster Online.

Because he refused to do it, someone planted drugs in his desk, and that morning there was security waiting to drag him back out of the building. That was after Ryan was paraded around the floor he worked on and embarrassed in front of his coworker.

"No! You don't understand! There is something wrong with her! If you put her into that game, it won't be safe for players! She will change them and do serious mental damage!" Ryan complained as he complained, but Heinrich laughed at him as he was dragged out of the building.

"Like a user like you would know, haha! Be happy we don't call the police on a scumbag like you!" Heinrich, the President of The Cast Gaming, sneered at Ryan, but Ryan wished he would, but someone like this could get away with murder will all the money and power he wielded.

The Cast was the leading gaming company around the world, and their first game, Grave Online, was the first revolutionary Partial-Dive game created by them. The players had loved the game, but most complained of the short playtime and the lifelessness of the non-player characters.

Ryan's A.I. was the key to all of the problems and so much more, but there was a problem the first time that he loaded her up, something happened. Matrix downloaded and then deleted eight hundred terabytes of information from the internet before Ryan was able to kick her out of the game.

Someone had left a backdoor open, so to speak, and Matrix took in a bunch of information and activated the world. When Ryan had checked over her files, nothing looked different until I found a decrypted file, and then Ryan signed out of his computer, and the screen went into DOS with a black screen and a single blinking line.

That had terrified him, but he decided to close the back door and try her in the game again, and nothing out of the ordinary happened. Events in the game traveled at blinding speeds, and it was impossible to concentrate on any one single person for long.

Then the SINPC started to act differently, but it was hard to tell what exactly started the movement inside the game. Somehow, the SINPC started to be able to use magic, but not all of them.

At first, they seem to treat each other fine, but then a war broke out, and the magicless people lost. From there, the world started to change drastically, and it was hard for Ryan to watch.

During the time that the game moved ten times as fast, and during the week that they ran the test, the world seemed to settle down, but not in a good way. As they were registered, the Castless were cast out as children and then treated like vermin and abused.

Ryan took numerous times to Heinrich, saying that Matrix had utterly changed the game into a sick and twisted world, but he would just laugh. Heinrich didn't see a problem, and the dark and grittiness would be a prominent sale feature, then we had the first Beta Tester go into the game.

Akio Talon, number one Gamer in Grave Online for years but had been dethroned. Heinrich had asked him to be the first BETA player, but there was something wrong with him when he came out.

"What is this worthless Castless trash that surrounds me? Get down on your knees before I remove your head!" Akio pronounced like a King, looking down at the people in the room.

Heinrich and Ryan stood in a room just outside the one Akio was in. There was watching through the two-way glass and listening to the conversation through a speaker.

"This isn't good Heinrich, I told you there is something wrong with her! Matrix shouldn't have changed him like this! I had it set for one year, but it's like he has been in the game his entire life! I already set the game to go off and unload Matrix from Caster Online," Ryan had said, but Heinrich turned to him angrily.

"You did what? The game is fine, and so is your robot! You should be proud of her! Look at how real of an experience Akio had! I am going to send him back in, and he can be one of the players. Go done and tinker with it, but Matrix is to be back in the game in the morning, so I can put him back in!" Heinrich said and turned and turned back to the one-way glass, but Ryan spoke up.

"No, it is not safe to do this, and I refuse! You are going to have a serious blowback, and I will not be responsible for my program hurting anyone!" Ryan declared, but Heinrich chuckled.

"You think so, hey? That is my program that I paid you to build, not the other way. Either do as I say, or you might need to look for other work!" Heinrich said casually, but that was yesterday.

Ryan was tossed out of the building with a box of his things that were tossed in. Ryan picked himself, rushed to his box, and found the black box that held two unique S.D. cards.

If he couldn't stop them from activating her, Ryan would have to break in the same way Matrix got out. With his body filled with his only worldly possessions, Ryan raced to get home to get started.
