Through the archway, you and Emma walk single-file as the walls narrow. In some places, you must turn sideways to pass an exceptionally thin passage. Ambient light continues to illuminate the area, and the air is pungent with dust from long ago. More spiderwebs cling across the walls and short ceiling, like thin shades blocking the way ahead.

Passing another archway, it becomes evident you are in a catacomb as the side walls house coffins and tombs stacked three to a side. Inscriptions written in Latin and English are etched in the stone between coffins. One reads, "Everest Coppertin, Physician, Scholar." Another reads, "Stockton Chambers, loving father." Knowing Emma is terrified by this experience, it makes sense to turn back around and leave the catacombs. But for some reason, you feel like exploring a bit more…
