You discuss the concept of the security coffin and how the bells are used. Emma's face goes from red to pale, and she looks ready to feint.

"Buried alive," she says.

From the back passage leading into the room, footsteps scuttle across the dirt floor and you catch a momentary glimpse of Cassie passing by.

"Let's get out of here," she says as she takes your hand and heads through the exit arch of the room.

The next passage narrows even more, forcing you and Emma to creep sideways or risk being stuck.

"I really don't like this," she says. "I am not normally claustrophobic but this is ridiculous."

Her hand is so sweaty, it slips from your grasp several times. The overhead light streaming in through tiny crevices also seems to dampen the further you go. The air is thinner, or maybe the dust is thicker but you find yourself becoming light-headed and needing to take deeper breathes.

Finally, you see a side branch of this passage, and it opens to a larger, circular area with solid stone walls and two massive coffins. In the center, painted high on the ceiling are two figures: a bearded man with thin, cold eyes in blue military uniform and a comely woman in a Colonial gown. The paintings are positioned one each over the coffins. It is obvious that the couple depicted in the paintings lies in the coffins below. Nothing else of interest exists in the room, so you…
