Quest to Unlock Alchemy

~~~(POV: Lyatt Scott)~~~
~~~(Location: Kedwein, The City to the Easternmost Border of the Termal Empire)~~~

~~~(Date February 13th, 2297)~~~
~~~(Time 5:33 PM)~~~

The information regarding the quest is everything that I remember it to be, and the important thing to know about this quest is it has very little to do with the actual gathering of herbs and other such things. I'm going to need to fight against a monster that spawns in the western forests near Kedwein. It's not that difficult, but getting the needed item to drop is.

[Quest Tab]

[Becoming an Alchemist]

[Details: Tesha Lacroix has given you the needed quest to become an alchemist. You're tasked with fighting a monster known as a Fungus Beast. A Fungus Beast is a rare grade monster that shows up in the wild. They range between levels 8 and 18, but they are hard to find. The item you need is at an incredibly low drop rate. It could take multiple times fighting different Fungus Beasts.]

[Objective 1: Head to the western forest near Kedwein, it's a four-hour walk, and Fungus Beasts have a chance to be there already when you arrive. To cause the appearance of a Fungus Beast, you'll need to kill enough monsters to draw it out.]

[Rewards: EXP, New Crafting Skill, Increased Reputation with Tesha Lacroix]

[Difficulty: Rare]

This quest isn't nearly as complicated as my Uncovering a Tragedy PT.1 quest. It's going to take a while until I can get a chance to complete that quest. I'm not anywhere near strong enough to take on an Epic Grade quest. However, Becoming an Alchemist is easy in comparison. Fungus Beasts, an interesting monster with a weird origin in Libertas.

The empty road towards the western forest is a peaceful walk, and I'm two hours into the trip now. Tesha offered me some advice or potions to help with the fights ahead, but I already know what I'm now up against. Fungus Beasts are the immune system of a forest, one part of it at least. They respond to hostile invaders damaging the wildlife and vegetation.

A simple trick to draw out Fungus Beasts is to destroy some trees or plants, and they'll usually come running. There are variants, of course, like all monsters that you find in the wild and restricted zones. There are levels and power changes, and small adjustments to the name occur. The Level 310 version of a Fungus Beast is called a Fungus Mother.

My concerns aren't serious for this quest. I'm more interested in learning what Tesha can teach me. Having a mentor help you with your skills is something that not many players or NPCs get to experience. Some mentors help with combat attacks and others with crafting skills. Since no one utilizes The Darkness like me, I don't have a mentor.

Not for my combat skills, but I can find mentors for my crafting skills. It's a faster way to level them up and way more efficient than leveling up the skill by crafting something with the skill. Time sure is flying too, on the 21st of February, the World Lore tab is coming out, and it's less than 8 days away. NPCs and Players alike will be searching for powerful people.

Once the World Lore Tab releases on the 21st, the list of high-grade classes that have been taken will come out too. No names, nothing that pertains to the identity of the class or player will be posted on the forums by the Devs, only the Grade of the discovered class. The sunset takes my attention away. It's not a sunset, technically.

It's just low enough in the sky right now to cause the sky to turn orange. Libertas is known for many things in the future, and one of them is the natural beauty of the landscape. There is much to do and so little time to do it, and that would normally bother me if I didn't think I had the time to handle things my way.

My status as The Darkness Incarnate will cause problems for me in the future. No matter how hard I try, someone is going to figure it out eventually. Not to mention that I leak power, something out of my control. A person can put two and two together and know about me. Hiding my title is my best friend right now, and I'm going to do it until the gaming world discovers me.
