Myra Wraith

After exiting the secret pathway the group of three carried their bags full of goods and closed the passage behind them.

They all looked up and saw the tall walls of the border, the grand elder spoke. "Our secret pathway to escape was built during the making of the sect and is only known by one person within the sect. Just like our enemies attacked us from behind as we would not expect it, we have escaped back into the central lands and passed through their blockade through a secret passage. Most likely they will search around the sect and in the northern lands first before they think to check around the central lands so we need to not leave behind any traces of ourselves as we escape."

The group of three travelled from the wall further into the forest and carefully made their way towards the deeper parts of the forest to make their escape.

After encountering nobody during their escape they slowed down and took a break within the forest.

The grand elder put down her bag and began to go through it checking for anything useful.

She found a map within the bag and began to grab ahold of it but suddenly a sharp pain spread throughout her heart.

As they travelled together the young girls thoughts became more and more dark.

She finally had a place to grow strong and without the outside world casting their views upon her but it was finally over.

From now on her life would be spent on the run with her master and the person she hated and would have to struggle to survive along with them.

Along the way her thoughts became more complicated and her eyes looked towards her masters back as she held the sword in her hand used to defend against unexpected attacks and keep her safe.

Finally they were far away from the wall and in a safe enough place from the invading forces and the sect so her master had enough time to make a short stop.

As her master bent over to rummage through the things in her bag the young girl stayed behind her master, she raised her sword towards the back of her master and used her whole bodies strength to thrust the tip of it into her masters heart.

As the sword entered the grand elders body she spat out a mouth full of blood and fell down powerlessly.

As someone who was one of the most powerful within the sect she did not expect her end to be at the hands of her own disciple but against a worthy foe in battle.

In her final moments she felt deeply disgraced and regretful over the fact that she brought her disciple with her to escape.

She believed her disciple was obedient and worthy enough to bring along to revive the sect to its former glory one day but it seems her thoughts were wrong.

Meanwhile the girl stood above the body with a cold face but her eyes showed her inner conflict after taking her masters life.

She then turned to Lumi who stood behind emotionlessly as if unaffected by the sudden betrayal. "Hah.. even now you don't even move or display a single change. You are such a creepy thing… even now you don't even flinch."

As she spoke she raised her sword again towards Lumi's throat. "Since it's just the two of us now I might as well confess as this is the last time we will have a chance to speak, after today I will do my best to live on as a new person free from this curse of a name. I am Myra Wraith of the Wraith noble family, an illegitimate child born from a woman in a brothel and the family head. I tried to live a proper life when I left my family behind but even then within the sect I could not escape their influence so from now on I will live on as a new person. To do so I cannot have any connections to the sect so I cannot travel together with you both and I cannot have anything leak out about me if one day any of you are captured."

She pushed the tip of the sword closer to Lumi's neck, so close that it made a tiny drop of blood drop from Lumi's throat onto the tip of the sword and then fell to the ground. "Lumi… I hate you so much but even I am smart enough to be able to realise the true reason why I hate you. I wanted to be like you, so innocent about the outside world and nobody seemed to dislike you. I never had that chance to be so carefree and grew up quicker than most because of my background and how those around me had treated me. Even as I entered the sect I still could not be the kind of person I wished to be and would never be free from my past but you kept appearing before me as if to remind me what I could not become. So… goodbye. From now on I will never have to see your face again."

As Lumi experienced the pain of her neck as the tip of the blade was at her throat and as Myra talked she still displayed no emotions or visible fluctuations.

Myra noticed that and began to laugh. "Even in the end you will not speak and display the slightest emotion. The sect elders truly have destroyed the previous you and made a good puppet. Although I hated you I never expected you to end up like this. In fact if I tried my best during our battle maybe I would be in your position so maybe I should be the right person to put an end to your pain."

The sound of light footsteps approaching and rope tightening was heard close by, Myra turned her head and saw a young girl around the same age as herself pointing a bow and arrow in her direction with a big dog by her side which looked alertly towards herself.

She knew if she made the slightest movement then the girl and the dog would attack without mercy.

A moment ago she feeling was at the top of the world and fearless after achieving her long cherished wish to outgrow her families control and become a new person but all of a sudden the new arrival crushed her hopes.

The look in the girls eyes was sharp and scary as if she would act Immediately if she made a small movement.

The girl spoke in a calm voice. "First remove the sword from her throat and drop it. Then we can talk."
