Emergency meeting

A couple of hours passed by quickly during the chaotic atmosphere created by Celeste fainting and the four family heads arrived at the royal palace and entered the private meeting room.

Each family head was seated at the table but behind the Estrella family head was another man.

The current emperor was seated at the head of the table and calmly spoke but there was a subtle hint of annoyance in his voice. "What have you called this meeting for?"

The emperor still held his position and had not yet passed on his role to one of his sons like in Ki's previous life.

In the previous lifetime it was passed over to his son in a couple more years as he could no longer maintain his position of power and was getting old in age.

The Baer family head spoke up immediately as he turned to the Estrella family head. "Your daughter fainted after reading the stars… so I need to know the reason why. I have a bad feeling that something is wrong. I need answers right away."

The others were used to his suspicious behaviour about every little thing so laughed awkwardly at his words but the Estrella family head had a pale face which confirmed the Baer family heads suspicions.

The Baer family head looked over and asked. "Speak."

The Estrella family head turned to the man behind them who seems to belong to one of the lesser bloodlines of the family and spoke. "Tell them."

The man looked as if he was facing his death and his face paled as he was frightened of what he had to do.

He did not wish to speak but if he didn't he would be killed along with his family members, he stood still for a few moments and then listed his head once more. "Fate has been rewritten. Although I don't know what kind of event that has been rewritten it must have been a major event much later in the future. The biggest problem is that it was very important for many influences within the central lands so many fates have changed for better or worse and even the dragon qi within the imperial palace has been weakened by great amount."

The emperor looked upon the man and then turned to the Estrella family head. "If this is true then this is worrying… tell me is this true?!"

The Estrella family head lowered his head and did not speak but this was enough for the others to recognise the seriousness of the matter.

The Baer family head was deep in thought and then spoke in a troubled voice. "Major events that effect everyone can either be a major war between the largest influences in the central lands or something similar. I still need more information."

The man looked at the family heads and the emperor with lifeless eyes and opened his mouth. "Many fates have changed. Most of them were destined to have a fateful encounter that would change their lives for the better. Some were destined to die but now their lives are extended as if the major event would be a big part in them dying as they took part in it or afterwards. The demonic star of the devil sect, evil stars of the unorthodox alliance, blood stars of the blood sect and the martial alliances stars suffered a big loss because of the sudden change in events. This shows that the four major forces gathered together and fought over something that could change the fates of many. There are no clues in the stars of who is connected to the change so they have either been concealed from our eyes or they are a member of our own family."

Upon hearing the accusation the Estrella family head turned to the man and glared at him murderously.

The Baer family head frowned and then turned to the emperor. "I think I have a vague idea of what has happened. There are very few examples in which the four powers would gather together and have an agreement together. A negotiation between the four major powers in the central lands to deal with outside forces, a battle between us all, a tomb discovery and an arranged battle between the four forces disciples. If my instincts are correct then I believe this involves an experts tomb. I think someone has somehow discovered a tomb that wasn't supposed to be unearthed until a later date so it must be important to us all. We need to investigate into any sudden suspicious activity, transportation passing though any cities checkpoints, selling of rare goods and someone or a group of people rising in status or power suddenly. We need to keep this investigation going for the next couple of years to identify anything that could point the way forward. The Laurent family can use their business contacts to keep track of any changes within the business world while our family will begin to collect more information from our spy network. The Estrella family needs to try to find anything within the fate of the stars. Finally… is there any other problems that have happened in the past that you have not cared to bring up?"

The Estrella family head turned to the man once again as if telling him to talk.

The man knew he had very little time left so he spoke up. "There was an incident that happened in the past when the divine ice sect was wiped out. Nobody could find the traces of the grand elder, the next sect leader and the grand elders disciple but it is believed that one of them was connected to the next emperors security in maintaining their position for a very long time but now that persons dragon qi has been weakened greatly by that event as we cannot seem to locate any of them and the latest big event has greatly changed that persons stability once more. Before that there was a sudden appearance of a long abandoned Estrella family member which may be the cause of our inability to find out what has happened and who is behind it. Before that was a minor change in the emperors dragon qi but it was not that big of a change that the family did not investigate the cause of it."

The Baer family head frowned. "So… we missed out on a chance to discover who is behind all these events and you are saying that the one to blame for your lack of ability to find the culprit is a member of your own family that had previously escaped from your sight for a long period of time. What happened to that person?"

The Estrella family head held his head in his hand as he sighed. "They are dead. Whatever they did… it ended with them so there were no leads. My daughter made an attempt to capture him and extract his secrets but he ended his own life before he could be subdued. In fact her judgement was correct to pursue him at the time but she did not tell the family the reason why she wished to go out with some support. If she did tell us the reason beforehand then we could of sent a more powerful group with her that would have had more success in the future."

The Baer family head then looked displeased. "So it is a dead end created by a misjudgement of a situation created by the reappearance of one of your abandoned family members. All we can rely on for now is our information networks and our influence and power to investigate any abnormalities within the world to capture the person behind all of this. We have enough clues from the information provided so we just need to keep a lookout for anything suspicious."

The emperor looked a little bit annoyed and tired so spoke up. "We shall end this meeting here since there isn't anything else to discuss. We cannot afford any more mistakes! The future of the martial alliance and the capital rests on our shoulders so we cannot suffer anymore losses. We have the blood sect, unorthodox alliance and the devil sect to be wary of already and we need to find a way to get rid of them without suffering too many losses, now we have an unknown enemy to find and we do not know whether they are connected to any of these influences or are a new rising force within the world. Once the balance of the four forces tips over chaos will sweep across the central lands once more, this we need to avoid at all costs."

The family heads all nodded and agreed to his words as the head of the Baer family head spoke. "It would be best to inform the martial alliance leader and the affiliated sects to help with this too."
