Lik and Far’s hesitation

Lik and Far discussed their own opinions in the back room while Ki waited within the store.

Lik had the opinion that they should stay and try to hold onto the store but Far was opposed to the idea.

Far decided that she would tell him about Ki and the offer that had been proposed to them along with the potential danger they may face if they remain where they are.

Lik put the final touches on the sword and sheathed it once again then handed it to Far and spoke. "I will think about it… as much as I have the duty our parents left us to protect our family business in some ways the store may not be as important as protecting our bloodline and the skills passed down to us. If we are gone just because of my stubbornness to hold onto a building then our families heritage will be lost. Let's wait to decide for now and get to know this person before we make a decision so that we have no regrets afterward."

Far took the sword from him and listened intently then replied happily. "I quite like the idea of going to a new place and starting from scratch. At least we have been offered opportunities to improve our skills and also a place to be safe and continue the family line."

Even if it was a foreign land, the idea of living in a fertile land sounded like a dream to them.

After all of the struggles they had went through they wished to live a more peaceful life and focus on the blacksmithing.

If Ki was the right kind of person to work with then they would gladly offer their allegiance to her to gain that kind of life.

Far quickly returned to the stores front room and passed the sword over and took the payment from Ki which had been quite generous even though her sword had almost been stolen the moment she had entrusted it to them.

She inspected it after unsheathing it and then nodded with delight filling her eyes. 'The sharpness had improved drastically. Compared to when I first found it now I can say that this is a top quality and dangerous weapon.'

Ki looked up at Far as she sheathed it once again and placed it on her waist. "I will visit again soon. Please do let me know of your decision."

Far nodded and then escorted her out of the store. "Thank you for your offer and we will let you know soon."

Ki nodded as she left the store. "I will remain within the city for five more days and then I will be leaving. I will not be able to return for some time so I would prefer it if you could let me know before I leave so arrangements can be made to transport you and your belongings across the border."

Far went back to talk with her brother and figure out their final decision between themselves while Ki left the store to visit the other potential recruits.

Everything was going smoothly for her first visit to the north in this lifetime, perhaps because she had somewhat concealed her appearance she received less hostility and discrimination as she had in her previous life.

It also helped that she had her families background and support to use to make herself heard and receive some respect that she had never received the last time she was in the northern lands.

As a person in a foreign land who was female and terribly scarred she did not receive the best treatment and even got chased out of some places because of her appearance, heritage or gender.

Most of her memories were not fond ones but she also understood that back then she was powerless and was struggling to build her own power and heal her wounded and sickly body so it was hard for others to accept her unless she had their respect or appeared to be approachable.

Working with Alf which had dealings with the family gave her a way to slip through the gaps of their armour and get a chance to talk to some higher ups within the city while also trying to recruit some people and get more manpower.

So long as she remains patient and vigilant everything should fall into place as she had design it, as for the variables she would just have to keep a watchful eye out for them.

Even as she wandered through the streets she no longer had a pair of eyes watching her like before which pleased her but at the same time made her a little disappointed that the enemy no longer wished to play with her.

A smirk appeared on her face as she thought of the enemy which had gone in hiding. 'No longer sending your men out to be caught and sacrificed. What a shame but it doesn't matter whether you move in a reckless manner or try to hide in your hole there will be a time when you will have to fight back. When that time comes I will be ready for you and waiting.'

Ki adjusted her hood and the mask covering the upper half of her face and then walked back towards her room to continue her training.
