Retired old man #11

The rest of those people within the room were quickly killed and all of the blood within the room that remained was absorbed into each of their runic mystic tattoos.

The brother and sister within the room were the youngest among everyone there and had been given mercy by Rashida.

Ki could not tell Rashida that she had made the wrong decision because there really was not a correct answer on how to do these things.

Ki made her decisions based on calculations, logic and her own experiences within the sect, if anything her own thought process may even be a little biased because of her previous life and what she had heard or seen.

A person seeking revenge may not always look at their enemies like normal human beings with their own past so she may have missed something about the brother and sister in their previous life, something so small that others may have caught if they looked carefully enough.

Perhaps when carrying out their cruel acts they would still hesitate to do so but since they had to live and carry out their mothers wishes, they pushed through everything no matter what was asked of them.

To give themselves a much firmer will they would clutch onto the blood vial necklace when they were weakhearted and could no longer continue with what they were doing.

Not everyone was built to be suited in such an environment no matter how talented they may be, this was probably why they had died so much earlier than Ki.

Perhaps they had given up on everything and they had walked too far and saw no other path ahead of them but the constant struggling with no escape.

Perhaps it was not the war that killed them but they could no longer use their mothers wishes as an excuse to live on anymore.

They may have been cruel people as portrayed by others within the sect but from what Ki had briefly remembered, they were very distant with most others within the sect and usually very quiet.

They both protected each other from threats inside and outside of the sect and that was how they lived on.

Now that she had seen their origins and had another look at them after Rashida had spoken, she was able to look at them without that bias.

Her previous decision with Rayleigh may have been a whim of hers that was based on what she had heard about her past and she favoured her talents.

If such a talent could be turned to her side instead then it would be even better, Rashida's decision was made on the spot because of her own values but Ki could not fault her for doing so.

The best choice was to trust in Rashida who had spoken up and taken up the role as a leader who voiced their opinions against their master, it was not an act of defiance but she still was able to voice her own doubts on Ki's judgement.

As her master, if she had ignored her subordinates doubts then further dissatisfaction and doubt may spread among her subordinates.

Many will begin to question if they had chosen the right master after carrying out each of her orders one after the others, although most did not even get to choose who they would follow because of the circumstances of their recruitment, many still believed that Ki was someone worth following.

This was just another example of why Ki was worth putting their lives on the line for, she was not just some tyrant ruler or master who gives order after order to kill until they finally are discarded after they become useless.

Instead she is someone who listens to those beneath her and takes others opinions and suggestions seriously, if something can be achieved then she will allow it but if it cannot then she would explain why it is so to alleviate their doubts.

As someone with complete control over the Blood Shadow Group with the use of the leadership runic tattoo of the blood mystic arts, she really did not need to do this because she could easily use this to punish or kill those who become unruly but she felt that this kind of thing should only be used as a last resort when someone had betrayed her or done something terrible.

Rather than serving out punishments and making people obedient like most others in her position, she knew how to better use people and gain their loyalty or trust.

Loyal subordinates are always better than those without a will of their own, they have a lot more potential and can work or fight much harder than a mindless pawn or tool.

So long as people have a goal to work towards, have hope for the future and a leader that they can believe in then they will work hard together to make their leaders dreams a reality so long as that person's vision of the future aligns with their own.

Killing the a group of men, women, children and elderly to protect themselves and their secrets was something that could be so easily accepted no matter how loyal the subordinates were, there would always be some doubts about whether what they were doing was correct or not.

However Ki had also voiced her reasons for doing so, those people had long been driven by their greed for power and had committed many evil deeds upon the innocent that could not simply be forgiven or forgotten so easily, they were all given the choice to watch over those people after Rashida had spoken up so they all had their own chance to take up the extra responsibility and risks that came with not going through with her first order to kill them all.

All but Rashida could not afford to take on such a high risk that would result in exposing their master and what they were doing if they happen fail to keep control of such people that they may have felt a small bit of sympathy for.
