Headhunter #4

After dealing with the first group within the passageway another battle broke out very quickly.

Several high level or peak Transcendent powerhouses were among this group but there did not seem to be an Unrestrained realm among them.

While the headhunter wielded a sabre, she used her skills and experience to deflect each enemies attacks using a lot of force.

When doing so, they either lost their balance or revealed an opening which lead to a slash targeted towards their throat or the back or side of their necks most of the time like an executioner carrying out a beheading.

Other times when she could not aim for the neck, she would leave large cuts on the chest or limbs or even remove a limb.

Ki watched her a little as she finished cutting down a peak Transcendent. 'The cuts are powerful and aimed not towards a confrontation of power but instead are aimed to force the opponents attacks away and stop them from connecting their different forms to each other and building up more power. During their time to regain their balance or bring back the weapon to guard, she will be able to exploit any openings and leave a wound on their body. To manage to do this without error, you must have a lot of concentration, experience and control of the bodies strength. The art itself focuses on less forms and more on mastery over the few forms to perfection allowing the user to have less wasteful or fancy movements."

Since the art had been refined so much to allow the full use of the bodies strength along with the mastery over a simple sabre art, it allowed for quick and powerful slashes needed for quick and deadly assassinations but it also had some attacks in case of being confronted with a more vigilant target.

Rather than meeting weapons head on, all of the strength of the sabre is used to force open a moment where a weakness is exposed and follow up with a quick slash.

This suited the headhunter who was a woman because although slightly weaker than a man due to her body shape and size, she was able to use these forms to overcome this small gap of strength perfectly.

Ki calmly watched as the headhunter knocked back or knocked an enemy to the side and then continued to slash again wounding their body heavily then quickly moving from person to person doing the same simple movements but slightly adjusting the angle and location depending on the situation.

If she had fought with Rashida as she was now then perhaps she would easily be able to disrupt her wave like attacks and stop them from building up more power.

However Ki still saw some minor flaws in the movements. 'Indeed… someone who has gotten to that realm through training alone and through consuming medicines are much different. The gap may not be massive between them in terms of strength, qi purity and skill but it seems that she has worked hard to overcome this with training and experience. Although the gap has been reduced, she has still not attained a high enough realm in her sabre mastery and her qi needs further refining to make it more solid and of a higher quality.'

This was something that she had to overcome too in her previous life, after using blood arts to increase her realm, eventually she had to find ways to refine her martial arts and other skills so that she could match others who had broken through after a lot of training, experience and enlightenment.

Although she could easily overpower many Transcendent realm masters with her realm, at first she had difficulty surviving against other Unrestrained masters and chose to flee or use dirty tactics to gain an advantage during combat.

Rashida clashed against many other Blood Sect members with a fierce look in her eyes. 'This is the kind of battle I was looking for!'

This was an all out battle of strength, skill and weapons which was incredibly dangerous.

There were no extra tactics or abilities used but instead just Rashida, Ki and numbers ambushing the Blood Sect disciples with the assistance of an Unrestrained Realm assassin.

Since the burden was reduced from a large power or number gap by the headhunter, they were able to fight without being overwhelmed by the enemy.

After the battle, many bodies lay on the ground lifeless in a pool of blood.

Many of those fighting had some minor wounds on their bodies so their clothes were either stained with the enemies blood from this battle, previous battles or from their own blood.

Ki calmly walked out of the room when she found the headhunter looking over the bodies. "Leave it, it is best not to leave any clues of yourself here. Although they may suspect that you may have been involved in the attack upon discovering the scene here, they may just come to the conclusion that you were saved and not involved. However if you leave behind your signature calling card after your kill, they will know that you were involved and begin searching for you."

The headhunter was considering what to do with the heads of the people and even came up with the idea of dumping the heads in one of the secret rooms of the assassin leaders building but upon being told so, she hesitated and then followed Ki outside. "Mm.."

The thrill of battle had settled down and during that time she had discovered the perks of fighting side by side with other capable people so she was drawn slightly closer to Ki.

As a person fighting alone for their own goals and surviving, they live in solitude and cannot trust others easily while building up walls.

She had just been betrayed so her walls would only become thicker in this situation especially when someone was asking something of her or giving her an order.

However now that she was being influenced by the Gu Worm, she was more open to listening and letting down that wall for Ki.

Upon achieving a victory along with the group, she only became more influenced and the advice only helped to further let her fall due to being grateful for not exposing herself to a dangerous enemy with her calling card or habit after killing someone.

While the others were busy using their blood mystic arts to absorb the blood within the room and spend a little time in practice and recuperating using their enhanced healing, Ki and the headhunter waited outside.

Ki took out some traps that contained various poisons ready to set them up for when the enemy open the main rooms doors and calmly explained. "We only have a couple more bases to attack so I hope that you can help. I will also try to arrange a new placed or you to go and hide out at afterwards. They will not give up on hunting you so it is best that you quietly collect your things and go into hiding with my help. Or you have the option to leave your belongings behind if they are safe and secure away from others hands."

The headhunter hesitated. "What about my revenge? I am sure that there were also many people who joined the organisation just to follow me so how could I let him take them all and gain all the benefits but not suffer from my wrath?"

Ki calmly thought. "I could arrange some things for many of them to be poached by another group if you can give me their information. I could also arrange for him to be slowly torn down making him lose the trust and respect of those around him but also everything else he has built up over the years. For me… this is an easy feat."

Although it could take some time to do so, many arrangements can be made in the dark with Nox's growing influence.

So long as the organisation did not have a large backer or someone powerful inside, destroying it should be easy for Nox but even if there was, there was always the option to use Gu Mystical arts to remove anyone within that may be a hinderance.

There was never a need to have a direct confrontation between different organisations and since the other had been weakened after the loss of the headhunter, they will soon be watch more closely by their competitors.

They will either be removed or swallowed up by those around them if they cannot find a new pillar to support and protect them soon.

After gaining lots of fame and success over the years, they had been riding on the headhunters successes but along with the gained success there also came envy.

Many wished to take or destroy what the leader had because of that envy or just because of the competition among those in the same field of business.
