Throwing Weapons

Each of the snow dogs belonging to Ki had possessed no enhancements like being able to evolve their own species or had been given some form of mystical abilities besides eating some medicines that improved their physical condition a little.

In some cases, there were creatures that had lived off miracle elixirs and had grown extremely powerful while others had been able to reach a stage where they could evolve as a species.

There were myths and legends of snakes evolving into dragons upon reaching a certain amount of strength or age while other creatures could possess similar chances to improve but the process was very difficult to complete and was dangerous for them.

They required a lot of time to be able to safely undergo such a metamorphosis and the energy required to complete it was a lot.

Unfortunately the snow dogs were not anywhere the stage of those kinds of lifeforms and could only eat much lower in energy elixirs and pills.

It was not that worthwhile to use resources like that on animals since humans needed them much more for their martial arts training but that did not stop Ki from feeding them small amounts during their training so that they could improve.

Compared to other dogs, they looked the same but they were still more dangerous and powerful.

The speed and power they had shown during the sled race was just a small show of what they were capable of but it was unlikely that they would ever be able to keep up with other creatures that had different circumstances like those in contracts using mystical arts.

It was not that Ki was being wasteful of her resources but it was that she was so skilled in making such medicines that there was enough to be passed out to the snow dogs too.

She would not neglect those that were loyal to her and the funds gained from her businesses over the years had more than covered the expenses from the ingredients needed to produce those pills.

There were all kinds of ordinary animals that could take down anyone within the lower realms of martial arts so most animals were still very dangerous to most humans.

A single moment of carelessness or weakness was all it took for a stronger martial artist to fall into their jaws and be killed.

It was the same for any higher realm martial artists that did not have very durable bodies and did not yet have the ability to protect their bodies with their own qi.

It required someone to be at the Unrestrained Realm to be able to protect themselves in such a way and to solidify their qi but the person that had died did not seem to have reached that stage.

They fell victim to the many snow dogs in their already weakened and dying state.

As that was happening, the figure of Ki was still wrapped up enough to not let others be able to identify as daggers and other smaller sharp objects were thrown out by her.

Lives were taken within a short span of time that had passed which alerted many within the camp and caused them to go on the counterattack.

They all pounced forwards towards the figure of Ki as they removed their weapons and raised them up readied to swing or thrust towards her.

A smirk appeared on the face of Ki beneath the clothes that had concealed her appearance. 'Fools.'

So many had jumped forward with a great amount of speed and force which had shown that they were not low quality martial artists.

Ki had some confidence in being able to deal with all of them but there was still the other unusual cold flame users that posed a slight problem and could interfere.

There was the two leaders of the group that had yet to showcase their own power too so she would not be careless and underestimate her opponents just because she had gained a leap in power once again.

Overconfidence would not be her downfall and her old ways would not suddenly be lost just because of there being no need for them.

She had already thrown out many weapons in many directions and hit many targets while some had blocked them with their weapons or avoided them.

What happened next was very shocking and disturbing for anyone that had been watching from up close or the sidelines.

A large amount of those up front had kept moving forward when they passed through something.

More behind them did the same until those near the back had started to notice something was not quite right.

The people at the front had suddenly halted in place after realising something was wrong or had already went wrong.

Small blood lines started to appear on their bodies parts of their bodies had started to fall out of place before falling to the ground.

Surprise was shown in the eyes of the two leaders who had been waiting for the most opportune time to join the battle. "What.."

"How is this.."

Their eyes had narrowed as they searched around then they saw something that very difficult to see right away.

Where the people in the front had passed had many very thin lines of string that had reddened from the blood that had soaked them as they cut through the skin and bones of those that had passed through them or had been tangled in them.

The ground became littered with different body parts that had been cut up and the pools of blood that had formed underneath those that had started to fall down after losing too much blood or having already died.

Each of the throwing weapons were carefully aimed and were skilfully thrown out by Ki but not every one of them hit their mark as it was believed by those who had managed to avoid being harmed.

It seemed like some had been thrown out randomly but each one had a purpose.

Some had the silk threads attached to the end of one of them which connected to another which was thrown towards another direction which had tightened the string enough to make a single trap.

More were thrown out in a similar manner and were mixed in with her other attacks so the enemy did not pick up on anything strange.

It just seemed like they were getting closer so she was throwing out them more recklessly in a panic.

Unfortunately for them, she had calculated it all carefully and they walked into her trap as the silk threads had cut into their bodies due to the speed and force they had been moving through them.

Even those that had managed to notice something strange had tried to slow themselves down a little but had still suffered a small cut or became tangled in some way.

Those at the very front were the ones to suffer the greatest losses and most of them had died very quickly unless they were able to avoid taking a major and life threatening injury due to their own luck.

There was a slight pause that was created by the shock and horror that had been experienced by everyone there.

That pause only happened for a moment and it was only experienced by those that had been a part of the camp.

Ki did not stop in her actions and made full use of the opportunity as more small weapons were thrown out towards the survivors. "Next?"

Her body language had shown to others that she seemed bored and was playing with them which had caused those around her to feel like they were being looked down on and were being toyed with.
