Once the order was given, those closer to the backlines of the formation were the first to follow those already fleeing.

That simple order had resulted in those nearer to the front lines to be left behind and have their overall formation weaken the more people abandoned it.

The formation coming down the mountain to trap those trying to escape inside were previously making some progress in their efforts to slay some more people especially when there was occasional support from the icy flames being thrown in the middle of the battle.

They were just in the process of thinking they could slay every person in front of them when the other sides formation started to weaken allowing the remaining fleeing group to push through and take a few more lives with their final struggles.

Panic set in as they looked further away and saw the fierce approach of warriors charging on foot and others riding on a mount.

The icy flames had stopped coming over to provide additional aid so the teamwork and combat power dropped by a lot making them even more vulnerable.

They were incapable of attacking the backs of that many people who continued to push their way down the mountain towards the approaching warriors the more speed and momentum that was picked up.

It did not take long for reality to set in for many of them who no longer thought about chasing and killing those who were pushing their way down the mountain.

Some people had already panicked and backed off upon seeing their situation turn for the worse then they tried to hurry back up the mountain hoping to get away.

The many armed and mounted warriors bypassed those they identified as allies before cutting down anyone that they came across and viewed as enemies.

"Guah!"

"Run!"

"Uuah!"

"Aah!"

"Ha… ha.."

The journey back up was a lot more difficult than their descent especially when the snow surrounding their feet was higher up on their legs slowing them down.

The moment that they were trying to pull their legs out of the snow and push forward with all their might was when they heard the clangs of weapons and deathly cries of their allies who were behind them.

The loud sounds created from hooves and feet rapidly hitting the ground continued to grow louder as they closed in on each person.

They turned their heads back for a moment to see the shining cold blades that were sent out towards them. "Argh!"

The way that the warriors of the Northern Lands Capital destroyed the enemy was very fast and showed their overwhelming power when they were fully prepared and armed to fight against their enemies.

Despite there being many who had fled, it was very unlikely that they would have remained alive even if they continued to work together.

Those that had fled were being chased down by a team sent out to chase down and deal with the ones further behind.

Once they had cut down many and started to stray further away from their main force, they came to a halt watching those much further ahead as they started to gain more distance and their figures started to become more difficult to keep track of within the current weather conditions.

They stood in place for some time before turning back to return to everyone else.

The remaining battle took place and ended within a short span of time leaving very few of the enemy forces alive.

Most were killed while a very small number were subdued or left heavily injured to the point they could no longer continue fighting.

Those still alive were captured to be taken back and interrogated.

The white snow and ice was littered with dead bodies and pools of blood from the battle that took place which were very quickly freezing over due to the extremely cold conditions.

The show of force previously shown and the end result shown around the environment after the battle had taken place had shown a clear difference between the two sides combat power and the amount of available useful resources that could create a major advantage in warfare.

If there was a way to explain it better then it could be said that it was like a battle between highly skilled and organised knights who were up against a group of bandits who were somewhat capable but were lacking in many things they needed.

They may have had some good stuff that they had robbed from others or gained by luck but even those things could not match the fully armed force that attacked them.

Even their experiences and martial arts were not enough to prevent their eventual downfall once their allies had left down for dead but those who had lived in such an environmemt should have expected such an outcome since there was no honour among theives and others who were used to such a lifestyle.

Meanwhile an armoured figure rushed in shortly after the battle took place, they removed their helmet overlooking the area that had previously been turned into a battlefield.

His silvery white hair were paired with his icy blue eyes had been shown once the helmet was removed along with his silvery beard.

Many recognised him once upon his arrival and one subordinate bowed down in the snow after arriving in front of him. "My lord, we have succeeded."
