Into the canyon

Marching through the streets took longer than expected, but finally, they emerged from the city gates and entered the empty roads leading to the north. Vaises, his face set in a grim expression, rode at the front of the group. His father had assigned him the most capable men in his garrison, as well as a knight who had been assigned to him specifically. Vaises knew they were heading into dangerous territory, and he couldn't afford to make any mistakes.

There were no villages or people they encountered after leaving the region of Ditrayn. As they passed through the deserted villages, he kept a watchful eye out for any signs. It was an empty road. It was his first time coming towards the north. Vaises was left with a bit of doubt, as he saw nothing in these lands.
