247. Shark Leviathans
Mira takes the boat away after Ben told her to. A battle against 2 Shark Leviathan will surely create big impacts that will endanger the bystanders. She can protect herself and Bella but Ando might be put in danger.
"Are there really 2 Shark Leviathan?" asks Ando, still not believing it.
"If Ben says so, then it must be true. Even if it's not true, the battle against a Shark Leviathan will make big impacts, so we need to get away," says Mira.
Mira doesn't try to convince Ando because he has just known them. She has full trust in Ben and so is Bella, but Ando won't believe someone he has just met easily. It's better to let him see it by himself rather than trying to convince him.
Ando's chance to see the proof of Ben's warning comes fast. The 2 Shark Leviathans finally appear, although they just show their massive upper fins. But those 2 massive fins are enough proofs for Ando to know that there are really 2 Shark Leviathans.
"This is more than I expected. I just came to flex my body but now a training chance come. There's no better training than fighting strong opponents," says Ben excitedly.
The 2 Shark Leviathans still haven't shown up but they keep getting closer to Ben. He gets ready to confront them by covering his whole arms in flame. Then he hits his fists excitedly, forming 5 red magic circles around him.
"Fire Magic gets weakened in this environment so I am at a disadvantage by using it. But this kind of restriction is good for me because I can train my fire magic," says Ben as he looks at the incoming Shark Leviathans.
The 2 Shark Leviathans suddenly jump out of the water toward Ben's position. Now he can clearly see the 2 Shark Leviathans. One of them is bigger with black skin with blue metallic armor on its back, fins, & jaws. The other one is smaller with grey skin & silver armor in the same positions.
Ben gets surprised and jumps away to avoid their attacks. He is surprised to see the black one because there's no record of such a Shark Leviathan. This is the first sight of it and Ben is sure that it is stronger than even Whale Leviathan.
"No wonder everyone who took this job failed. It must be this guy. I can feel that it is 3 times stronger than the normal Shark Leviathan beside it. But Shark Leviathans are solitary creatures, so why are there 2 of them? Unless?!" says Ben while grinning.
"Well, it doesn't matter, you'll still be good opponents for me," says Ben as he activates his magic.
The 5 red Magic circles around him glow brighter before they shot multiple fireballs consecutively. The fireballs fly toward the Shark Leviathans but they maneuver midair and block the fireballs using their armor.
The black Shark Leviathan then swings its tail at Ben. It doesn't reach him but it creates a powerful shockwave that gets shot at Ben. He dodges it using his light magic to propel himself away while he is midair.
Ben wants to attack again but the 2 monsters have dived into the sea. This is the problem with fighting water creatures on the sea. He can't do anything when they are underwater because the water blocks his spells.
Still, it won't stop him from trying so he will still attack them. Ben takes a deep breath while trying to sense the monsters' position. The weaker Shark Leviathan's presence is faint but the stronger is very clear and it's right below him.
"Sun Dragon's Fire Roar!" chants Ben before he shoots a powerful fire pillar from his mouth.
The fire pillar penetrates the water and moves toward the monster. However, its power & speed gets reduced by seawater. Its slow speed allows the Shark Leviathan to get away and evade it.
"Damn, fire is really not compatible with water," says Ben pissedly.
Suddenly, 2 whirlpools appear, and then 2 big water pillars with one being significantly bigger move toward him. They are the Shark Leviathans' attacks that pinch him from 2 sides. But Ben just evades them by propelling himself frontward using his light magic.
More water pillars get shot from the sea, making him keep evading them. The 2 Shark Leviathans don't seem to have any intention to come out and just keep attacking from below. If this continues, Ben will be at a disadvantage because he can't attack them.
"They are smart enough to think of something like this. I doubt they'll come out knowing they'll be at a disadvantage by doing that. Besides, I am not their prey and they just keep me away to stop me from disturbing them. Sigh, it seems I need to change my strategy and just focus on finishing this job. Well, let's use the elements that can penetrate the water easier than fire," says Ben while looking around.
Ben extinguishes the flame on his arms and flies higher. He looks at the sea below and extends his arms to it. Then he gathers his Magic Power and creates a hundred bright yellow magic circles all around him.
He smirks and says, "Let's try this newly made spell. Sun Dragon's Wrath: Rain of Light!"
After he chants the spell, long & sharp light spears come out of the magic circles. Each magic circle shoots multiple light spears consecutively. They won't stop shooting until Ben dispel them.
The light spears shoot down at the sea at a very high speed like rain. They keep hitting the water and create big splashes everywhere. The light spears shoot down toward the Shark Leviathans.
Their speed reduces because of the water, but they are still very fast nonetheless. They can hit the 2 Shark Leviathans below and force them to get away. But Ben keeps track of them and keeps shooting toward their positions.
After some time, he stops his bombardment and dispels the magic circle. The area above the sea is now full of mist created by the light rain. Light has heat energy inside it, after all, so those many light bullets surely evaporated a huge amount of water.
The wind soon removes the mist and now Ben can see that he has killed one target. It's the smaller ones, the normal variant with grey skin. The black Shark Leviathan also gets injured but it still survives and now is glaring at Ben angrily.
"As I thought, the grey one is your spouse. But don't expect me to be merciful just because of that. This is a dog-eat-dog world, a world where power matters, it's survival of the fittest where the weak will get killed," says Ben seriously.
He knows the Shark Leviathan can understand what he says. Magical creatures are a lot smarter than normal creatures. Some of them even can speak human language, that's why it's normal for them to understand humans even though they can't talk like humans.
"If you want to avenge it, then come! I won't run away," says Ben as he gets down and stands on the water again.
"Grrr, RAWR!" roars the black Shark Leviathan with a very powerful voice.
Ben closes his ears tightly because the roar is very loud that it hurts his strong hearing. It finally stops after some time and Ben stops covering his ears. He feels dizzy because of the super loud roar.
When he comes to his sense, the black Shark Leviathan's jaws have gotten very close to him. Before he can do anything, Ben gets swallowed by the monster. Ando screaming frightenedly while Mira & Bella just sigh.
"Over," says Bella while shaking her head.
"What's o-," Ando can't finish his sentence because he sees the black Shark Leviathan suddenly flail around as hot steam comes out of its mouth.
Then soon, it stops moving and floating as it lost its life. Ando then sees Ben comes out of its massive mouth with a pissed expression.
Ben curses as he gets out, "Damn bastard trying to eat me. Now I can't train using it as an opponent because I need to kill it soon. Sigh, what an anticlimatic end."
