LoneWolves (1)

I'll admit it was weird being able to choose your subclasses so soon. Usually the system didn't let you until level 10. This could prove very useful for me. Healer as a class was basically never used in the beginning stages because it had no attack and no defense attributes. Making it as my subclass right off the bat might slow me a little, but reaching alchemist would totally be worth it.

After ten minutes a sentence appeared in the sky.

[Tutorial: 5 days. Players please get use to your body movement and usage before the beginning to challenge one. Also please set you classes. You may level up as you see fit.]

Let's see I need to find the level 2 snake boss. If I kill it in one hit it should drop a decent starting dagger which could greatly increase my speed and allow me to go to another plane.

The 5 hour tutorial might be seen as dangerous but I was more worried about the challenge. This crazy AI could do anything. The tutorial seemed to follow the NewLegacy rules from version one. I had to take a few low key risks if I wanted to survive.

It didn't take me long to find the snakes. It was also an easy kill for me. I was starting to get the hang of this. The same monster weak points still existed and they still, at least for now, followed the same attack patterns.

After killing it my eyes nearly popped out. It was a different drop, and it was better.

[Level 5 dagger set. Double edged ebony - reinforced wood]

"Fancy" I muttered. My level was already 6 so I happily started using them. The snakes didn't stand a chance now. Time to move on to a new plane. Hmm which one do I want. I was just thinking the Willowed Woods when a ding sounded and I opened the guild chat.

[Firefly: Hey guys, random but I found a dungeon for level 5. I usually hate team ups but the requirement is at least half the guild must be present. Anyone interested. Standard solo player rules apply and the LoneWolves's only rule and guidlines.]

I smirked at her mention of the one rule I created for the guild on its board.

Rule 1: There are no rules.

Guidelines that you should probably follow: Standard solo player ones duh.

1.-Everyone keeps own drops

2.-team ups done by creating rules among participants

3.-don't interfere with other's fights unless they ask for help or are on the verge of death (HP <10%)

4.- don't jump into a fight you can't win

5.- Be proud to be a solo player but ask for help if you need it

If you break a guideline suffer the wraith of your teammates cause again I don't really care.

I had added the last three. This game was too realistic for that. Normally solo players would just watch someone die and respawn, this time though I'd at least leave up some suggestions.

[I'm in] I commented.

To my surprise the majority of the guild arrived at the Jaded Hills. Guess no one wanted to miss a chance to level up so soon. It was another level 5-10 area. The only ones missing were the BlackWolves, but I had already assumed they'd do their own thing unless we asked for them. We met the half criteria with the 6 of us.

The dungeon was the first thing different. Normally this dungeon didn't exist. Would the AI try to kill us off that fast though? I felt like if it was using us as entertainment it should take a bit more enjoyment in it.

"Don't die yet guys, I still need something resembling a guild for awhile." I said as I stepped into the dungeon.

The dungeon was dark and cold feeling. Behind me Firefly lit up an orb with a fire mage skill. She paused for a moment then lit three others to surround us all with light.

Like a true team player haha, it's amazing what solo players will sometimes do for the sake of exp and self preservation while still refusing guilds.

The first thing upon us were six large level 5 dog beasts. I dodged a slash thrown by one and slipped under its middle dragging my dagger down its middle. I spun following it up with a thrust to its neck breaking the connection cables.

Oh I suppose I should give a little background. NewLegacy is a game based on an AI taking over the world and creating mechanical monsters. No wonder Mango chose it huh?

My beast fell to the ground and died/ lost power.

[+250 Exp]

I looked over at my guild members who had each taken a monster and watched as each killed theirs. Last was Firefly but she was also holding up the four orbs still so I wouldn't hold her skills against her.

The dungeon took the form of an underground tunnel and continued for a few miles with more dog beasts randomly appearing and charging at us. We took turns killing them off when there were less than six. When there were more than six it became a free for all.

We were casually moving along. The beasts kept increasing in numbers. We had actually started behaving like a normal guild with the two warriors DoubleEffect and ShadowLance on the front, the two mages Firefly and PurpleLily who was lightning based in the back, and myself and MidnightFury being assassins swiping in for damage hits.

We cleared out the 25 dog beasts in this cave and stopped for a quick rest. PurpleLily and ShadowLance were conducting a trade over two items they had both gotten. I hadn't found anything useful yet for myself.

We finished up our hang out and descended once more into the depths of the tunnel.

The air was starting to feel more chilly the lower we went. The boss must be ice based. Firefly would have a fun time melting it I'm sure. We rounded the corner and came upon an interesting sight.

A large door blocked our way and sitting next to it were two giant dog beast both level 7. Their heads turned and their eyes glowed red as they rose to their paws.

"Firefly and ShadowLance with me, we will take the right. You three take the left?" I asked. The dogs lunged at us and no one bothered to try to make a different claim. I had split us by class to give us the best chances of winning.

I lunged in stabbing at the dog's leg with my daggers. They did hardly any damage though. I leapt back barely avoiding its jaws clamping down on the air where I had just been. These dogs weren't normal.

Time for a different weak point. I focused my next attack on its jaw. It lunged at me again snapping at air as I sidestepped away. Then before it could pull its jaw back up I slammed my dagger into the underside of its cheek.

It howled in rage and opened its jaw's wide.

A fire ball exploded in its mouth and it finally fell to the ground with melted circuits.

The three of us sat down near the entrance to watch the other group's fight finish up. PurpleLily had the beast frozen with her lightning while the other two stabbed at it.

After another minute of the strikes it fell over dead. Advantages of solo players teaming up? We were all attack power based so fights went faster.

Damage though was more. DoubleEffect had gotten swiped by a paw and his side was bleeding a little. It wasn't deep though so his HP only fell by 10. He bandaged himself with his t-shirt then nodded to us that he was ready to continue.

I walked forward and down the cold was very chilling now. A very long and wide cavern appeared. The top was lined with ice crystals they glowed with a blue light.

In the center of it all was a large dog beast. Wait I might even call it a wolf at this point. Its wired circuits were encased in ice and blue crystals and its entire body seemed to glow. It let out a loud howl as it turned to face us. I gulped

[Ice Wolf level 15]

What was that doing in a level five dungeon!

MidnightFury let out a scoff "Teamwork seems to be a common required theme in this new version of the game."

"We could just leave and go back to solo play." I replied.

He frowned, "It will probably drop some ridiculous exp though. I'm in"

I smirked. Solo players weren't often invited on raid battles regardless of the reason why they chose to be guildless. None of us would pass up such a nice opportunity.
