The Game (4)

I could see the log out point from my view point. I was shiny in the low light. Sadly it was still another few miles away in a low lying valley. More walking for me yay!

I took a sip of water and gave some to Blank as well. Time to keep moving.

The log out point. I stepped into it. Unlike the original game if someone was with you on a circle you could log out together and you could also be logged in by someone. Which was good for Blank's sorry state, but bad since we ended up in here to begin with.

[Log out? Y/N]

I clicked Y mentally and the scene around us faded away.

Within a few moments I woke up but kept my eyes closed. Then slowly I opened them just a crack to examine my surroundings. Blank and I were on a table connected to a bunch of wires that were connected to two dive tubes. I was also back to being fully clothed which was nice.

The less nice part was the other eight members of Team Red currently occupying the area. Instead of watching us like hawks or crying over their dead teammates they were playing cards. Did they even know or pay attention to what had happened? Their stupidity was to my benefit!

A table nearby even had a bunch of sedative potions and one thing of poison. Hehehe they were making this too easy!

I reached out my hand slowly grabbing the highest level poison bottle available. Beside it were several syringes but I just pulled the needles off the ends of them quietly. I worked the last needle I needed off and it pulled away too easy sending the plastic part of it crashing to the floor.

I winced looking sideways at the not so observant team members. They still weren't paying any attention even when I made a racket. I smirked, this was just natural selection now, they clearly wouldn't live long even if I left them alive. I was doing the world multiple favors here.

I dipped each of the needles into the poison bottle careful not to get any of it on me. Seriously why did they need this much of a poison that could kill you with a drop?

I sat up fully now that I had my weapons prepared.

"Good night, make sure to let the bed bugs bite." I smirked evilly and started tossing the needles at their necks.

"Ow, hey watch it don't pull my hair!" one yelped as another one grunted.

One with black hair turned toward his friend and my needle just barely missed him. Darn. That was when they finally noticed me.

"Hey you ca..." one who had gotten hit tried to get up and made it two steps before falling over.

I saw his eyes widen as he and his friends got a poison notification.

"Hey what's wrong!" the black haired one I missed asked looking at his buddies.

They dropped and he finally seemed to get the memo. By that point I had another two needles now dipped in poison. Seriously though were they collecting syringes or something?

I tossed them both at the same time. He dodged the one only to get hit by the other. Heh even his movements were so predictable.

And thus my body count rose another eight. Was that all for this guild? How many members did it have anyway? Well if I see more I'd just have to remove them from existence as well.

My eyes turned back to Blank. They better not have done anything weird to him.

I suddenly collapsed to my knees with both hands supporting my weight. Shoot, I'd almost forgotten about 'that' problem. Seems my little adrenaline burst was now gone.

My whole lower section felt swollen making it harder to move. One dead Royal coming right up. My brain sarcastically muttered to itself.

I got back to my feet more carefully. I just had to get Blank to a more public place where someone could find him.

I managed to pick him up then started walking, I was careful not to bump my legs against my lower parts. Around 2 days left to live... sounds painful. Wait if Blank was up would he clear my name and well do me? No too much to hope for, last time I saw him he wanted me dead. Our last encounter with Team Red probably just confused him more.

I sighed as I pushed open the door of Team Reds hide out and found myself in the rock garden where this whole thing began. My sense of time was all messed up. The sun was just starting to rise in the real world.

I started to make my way down the slope of rocks. I was a few miles from the nearest town. Well town within the previously destroyed city. There were now about 5 towns.

I walked along a boulder when my foot skidded on some loose gravel and I tumbled down between a few of the boulders. Dumb Team Red couldn't put their base in a better location?

I hissed getting partly back to my feet and making my way down to where Blank had fallen from my back.

"Hey don't go near him!" a voice shouted.

Oh for crying out loud not another fight, I hissed in my head. I wasn't sure I could walk to the nearest town as it is. I looked over to see some of the SnowLeopards walking toward me.

Hurray Blank is saved! His teammates had arrived. And I was probably dead.

My least favorite member of them Chase was leading the group. He eyed me carefully with a clear look of move toward Blank and you're dead. Behind him was Deck, Nova, River, and Sly. Only one I liked in the group would be Deck.

"Fallen to the point of joining Team Red did you?" Chase growled.

"As if!" I hissed back.

"Oh really, you are just here by their base with a gift wrapped Blank for no reason?" Chase replied Icily.

During our conversation I noticed River had moved behind me and was making his way to Blank.

"Leave now, and leave Blank." Chase growled.

"Fine." I snapped back.

I may hate him but he was very loyal to Blank I'd give him that. Besides at this point they could look after him better than me anyway. They were even saving me the long walk. I could go find a quiet place to die now.

As soon as I stepped away from Blank River and Nova moved in to securely block me from him. Sly, I think he was their healer? Knelt by Blank examining him.

"How is he?" Chase immediately asked.

Yep definitely their healer.

"Not great, looks like some type of poison. I'll have to run some analysis on it when we get back." Sly replied as he reached down scooping Blank up into his arms.

He then moved further away from me again. I watched them quietly trying to make it obvious I had no intention of stopping them or trying anything. I wasn't all that successful though, if anything they just looked at me even more cautiously. Well I guess I can't blame them.

Once they were a solid ten feet away I started to move away myself. A nice underside of these rocks might be nice. Maybe I could fly up and just drop myself onto a bolder and save myself the pain? I should hide my body just in case Blank knows I was innocent, then he could just think I disappeared instead of died. Wow the weird things you think about when you realize you're going to die and no longer have any obligations of goals.

I was 20ish feet from them now. Once I was oh 50ft away I could fly without worrying them right? Eh whatever if I made them flinch fine. At least there aren't any canyon walls to run into here.

Ouch, a bug bit me on the back of the neck. I reached my head up only to find a needle. Wow my own tactic against me. I looked over Chase, the stupidly annoying assassin was holding another two needles. I stumbled to my knees. Well that was easy, at least now I didn't even have to fly up, it also feels kind of numbing not painful. How kind of him.

My eyes fluttered shut.

You know I seem to end up unconscious a lot. In my next life I'll have to work on the whole blacking out constantly problem. Weird last thoughts.
