The Game (5)

A jolt of pain shot through me and I opened my eyes. Chase's face was in front of me.

"Oh finally awake you little murder!" he growled.

Ow, I thought glancing around. I was alive? Well for now anyway, the pain in my lower section had gotten worse again.

The room was quite dark expect for a small window on a ledge with bars over it. Oh I was totally in a dungeon prison thing. My eyes finished adjusting and I was a cage like room. In front of me were Chase and Nova.

Chase lifted a foot and slammed it into my stomach. It didn't even hurt as badly as my lower section.

"What kind of stupid drugs did you inject into Blank!" Chase hissed again as another kick slammed against me.

"How should I know?" I growled earning myself another kick.

It was officially now probably the worst week of my life far as injuries.

"Spill unless you want to die! Sly said there are two drugs in his system. I want to know everything about them now!" Chase's face was red with anger.

"Just kill me." I muttered back.

I lost track of the number of kicks I earned for that. Then one landed on my thingy.

"OUOSDFOHDSFH" I moaned.

Chase glared. Then suddenly his hand was on my pants examining my lower parts.

"Hey get off!" I growled trying to knock him off.

"What you're bloody getting hard from this!" he spat.

No idiot I'm hard because it's swollen with the same dumb drug as Blank has. I felt like yelling back but instead I just kept my mouth shut. I didn't feel like getting kicked anymore.

"Unbelievable" he hissed.

"Chase, Chase!"

I looked toward the door where another SnowLeopard member had entered the doorway.

Chase also glared over at him, "What's up pipsqueak?"

"River wanted you for something." The tiny guy said.

Chase's eyes glared at me again then glanced at Nova. "Watch him, I'll be back shortly."

He grabbed something from his pocket and slammed it against my neck. Then he exited the area.

I reached up quietly examining it. A monitor tab, why did he care about my heart rate and stuff?

"Don't touch that." Growled Nova, "That's for later when we finally dispose of you."

"What can't just get it over with already?" I growled back.

"Stop talking just lay there quietly." Nova replied.

I rolled my eyes. Laying down wasn't really a problem, but I also didn't feel like being watched and played with before I died. I did have a small shred of dignity I would like to keep. I'd have to break out.

Hmm they wanted to monitor my condition did they? Okay two can play that game. I had a mouthful of blood from being kicked earlier. I wonder Nova, how are your acting skills?

I let one of my hands slide over the area Chase had touched. Germy feelings swept over me making it that much easier to act. I started spazzing out on the floor like I was having a seizure.

"Hey stop that!" I heard Nova yell, but her voice sounded unsure.

Perfect.

"Hey RoyalBlue I said…." Nova started.

I didn't let her finish, instead I spat out the blood and went still stopping my breathing as well. I heard the monitor on my neck beep twice for problem.

"Um…." Nova approached me.

Her footsteps slowly came closer clearly hesitating. As she should, I am a very dangerous assassin after all. Right next to me she paused and started to lean over.

That was when I spun around and shoved her back then wacked a hand against the back of her neck. I was careful of course to not kill her and only knock her out. Unlike the currently popular belief I only kill murderers.

Nova crumpled to the ground in a heap leaving the door wide open. I paused, how many people would I have to knock out for this? Could I just make them think I left instead?

Then I heard footsteps returning. Chase was coming back. Darn it! I looked around the place was empty except for a chair Nova had been using.

Wait the ceiling. It had a bunch of beams going across and the far end had a little crevice.

I used the chair to launch myself up into the beams. Which I instantly regretted as my lower parts screamed back at me. I walked across the beams carefully and tucked myself into the edge.

If he found me maybe he'd just finally kill me already. Honestly it would be so nice to just leave this pain behind, would it kill them to give me a pain med or two? I didn't have the mental strength to stab myself, that sounded way too painful.

I really wish I had of taped Rash duplicating me, I had no evidence. I mentally flipped on my record mode to auto tape the last 24 hours on repeat. Why bother now, it's useless I felt like hissing to myself.

Chase entered the room and saw Nova on the ground. He instantly ran over checking her over. After a few seconds his body relaxed. Then he tensed again. Someone must have been in the doorway because he yelled toward it.

"Find him!" he growled.

Then he picked up Nova and left as well.

I let out a breath and looked around again. Above me which I'm guessing was the actual guildhall, footsteps and voices grew a lot louder. I even heard one voice yelling for a barricade of the doors.

My eyes settled on the barred window instead. With its bars, that looked way too rusted. Honestly whoever maintained this dungeon cell should be ashamed of themselves. Or maybe they converted it just for me? Aww now I feel special haha not.

I followed a beam over and examined the bars. I pushed against them then punched a few times and they fell away. I smiled as I slipped out into the sunlight.

I had emerged into a bush which was good since several of the guild members were looking around the area. I waited as a pair of two of them walked by. The rest of the area was wide open and even sloped downward. A perfect place for a winged person to fly from, well assuming I didn't crash first.

I waited a few more seconds till everyone was as far away as possible then shot out and spread my wings running. I heard some yells behind me as I tossed myself into the air. Sadly I only got two wing beats in before I crashed and rolled across the grass.

"Ugh stupid drug!" I hissed rushing back to my feet.

I ran again and managed to toss myself into the air before a hoard of angry guild members reached me. Instead of trying to fly normal I just focused on going up. Up until there was no way for me to not manage to go forward.

Below me I heard someone comment that I looked drunk. They were probably right.

I left them behind though. I was off to find a quiet place to die. A place no one would think to look, and a place where I would eventually leave no traces of my existence.

A certain place came to mind. A place most people avoided like the plague and others only entered the top area for dares. I was probably the only one who had mapped the entire place for fun.

Yep this place would do nicely. Wait was it north or south of here. Where even am I right now? Ugh I felt so lost with this dizziness effect. I kept flipping between what was even up and down. Flying and dizziness should never mix.

It took me way longer than it should have to reach the entrance. I looked at the currently dry caves in front of me. The flooding maze caverns, a place only insane people hang out in. Now that my feet were back on solid ground I could somewhat fix the dizziness around me.

Some of the caves flooded with the tide, some with rainfall, some never did, and others would randomly. The maze caves changed, they would reroute themselves making it nearly impossible to navigate.

So far I only knew of myself and Hardcore who even tried. I'm not sure if he ever succeeded though. Their changes followed a pattern after all, they copied the first 50 digits of pi on repeat. You would have to be very bored or insane to even try.

I wonder should I write myself a gravestone? No better not. My job is to just disappear. Make everyone think I just ran away. I picked a tide cave that flooded about once a month. It still would have 8 days till the next flood with piranhas. It would leave no evidence and it was one of the lowest ones. Unless you knew how to navigate you'd never find it on accident.
