Pregnancy Is Not Easy

(From Leandro's Perspective)

One month had passed. Ella was now two months pregnant. Her mood swings were now a common thing and every one of us knew about it very well.

She had asked me a lot of times about what happened to Nicklaus. But I did not answer her and told her not to ask me about him again. I threatened her that if she did, I would not come to sleep in her room again. She hated sleeping alone these days. So, she agreed.

The doctor checked up on her every week. She said everything was fine and both El and the baby were alright. She said El would start showing after a month or something. I was kind of excited about seeing her like that.

"Jed, can you smell something from this juice?"

"It smells like orange," he replied.

"No! It smells like dirt!"

"Are you crazy?"

"I will change the juice, El," I said and took the glass of orange juice from her. I handed it to a maid who quickly left to get her something else.
