Chapter 33: Bringing home Orphaned boys

When we went to the orphanage, most kids can turn human and wolf since a young age. Its getting earlier to change these days. "I have an idea honey. I want to bring home an orphan boy and maybe one to keep as a pet that can't change what do you say?" "I'll think about it honey. Lets focus on talking to the one in charge first." So we found the man and woman in charge who happened to be husband and wife. "Hello. There our names our Loki and Akela. We are looking into a 5 year old little boy. Also maybe looking into bringing one home that's not able to change." "OK sure. Honey would you round up the little boys for me?" "Yes maam." "Thank you dear." Then he got up and rounded up the little boys.

"Wow there are quite a bit aren't there?" I said. "Yes these days people are dying or abandoning their babies for some reason. More and more are coming in." So we saw a couple a little ones in a corner. Loki and I bend down to talk to them. "Hello there little ones. What are your names?" I asked. "I'm Kane. This is Koni. He doesn't talk he came here not that long ago." "Oh is that so?" said Loki. "Well What if I said that I would take you two in? Will you talk then?" The boy nodded. "Well lets hope so. We also just recently had a baby girl. We need a little help around the house. Would you boys be willing to help out?" "Of course." Said Kane. Koni nodded yes. "OK then let me talk to the couple and let them know." "So you want Koni and Kane right?" "Yes that's right." Said Loki. "Ok well there is no paper work or anything so I'll let you take them home with you." "Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Drummer." "Oh call us Zumi and Naka. "Ok thank you Zumi and Naka." I said. Then we walked out with the boys back to mom and dad's house.

"We have to stop at my parents house first to pick the baby up ok?" I said. "Ok. What shall I call you both?" "Oh pardon me. If its ok with you honey they can call us mom and dad right?" "Yes of course." "Call us mom and dad. We are your new parents after all." Then we made it back to moms house.

"Mom, Dad, This is Koni and Kane." "Hello grandma and grandpa." Said Kane. "Oh Koni doesn't talk quite yet. He got to the orphanage not that long ago." "Oh I see." Luckily the kids can understand Onyx. "Before you leave you should introduce them to your brothers and sisters. I got the baby." "OK thanks mom." Then I introduced them to everyone who were happy to meet them. Then we headed home with the 2 boys and my little girl. I held the boys hands and Loki had the baby.

"Uncle Leo and Aunt Aqua we have a couple of boys here we took in." "Oh well hello there boys." Said Uncle Leo. "Hello uncle Leo. My name is Kane. This is Koni he doesn't talk yet but he will soon I hope." Oh I am sure he will." Luckily the guest house had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. "Oh Auntie are the twins up from their nap yet?" "Yes they just woke up I will go get them." Aqua went to the room and brought out the twins. These little ones are your cousins. The girl is named Luna like grandma and Orion who you haven't met yet is another grandpa my birthfather. They will be having a baby in a few months. You will meet him soon." "Oh Your uncle Kira is supposed to stop by. He should be here soon." "Oh is that so? That's good. He can meet my little girl and my little boys."

"Hello uncle Kira. I took in some orphan boys and this is my baby girl I gave birth too." "Well hello there boys." "Hello uncle Kira. My name is Kane. This is Koni he doesn't talk he just came to the orphanage not that long ago." "Oh Is that so?" "Yeah." Then Uncle looked at the little girl. "What did you name your little girl?" "Oh sorry uncle. Her name is Zuri Grace." "Aww your mom's middle name. I like it." "He is your grandpa Orion's brother. You haven't meet yet we will go see him tomorrow." "Actually he is supposed to come by." Said Kira. "Oh really? To see the baby?" "Yeah that too. He mostly wanted to see if you were ok." "Ok sounds good. Oh the boys are both 5 years old." "Oh 5 huh? That's about the time our dad taught us self defense." I looked at Loki he said, "I will let you take one and keep the other to help out for now. Just go easy on him ok? I'll Give you Kane. Kane what do you think? Self defense with your uncle Kira?" "Yeah sure. Although I already know a little I was learning it at the orphanage from one of the older kids." "Ok then. Maybe after you get settled in I'll come by an get you." "Sounds good Uncle." Then Dad showed up with Evi and Nixie. "Oh hello Akela. How do you feel?" "Oh I'm fine. I'd like you 3 to meet our new addition to the family. These boys are Kane and Koni. Then we explained Koni's situation. "Oh I see. Nice to meet you all. I'm Grandpa Orion. This here is my brother Kira." Koni nodded. Nixie came by to Koni and said, "Hello little nephew. I'm your aunt Nixie. I'll get you talking in no time." Then she patted his head. "Don't worry Kane I'm good at this sort of thing." "Ok I hope so." Then we visited and had a good time.

We finally went back to our house which is the guest house. "OK here we are you 3. That's right Zuri you too. Its your first time here too." "Ok boys I will show you to your room." Said Loki. "Ok dad." Said Kane. So he guided them to their room.

"I got a bunk for you both. Now no fighting on who gets to choose ok? How about this do rock paper scissors to choose." "No need dad. Lets just ask which one Koni wants." "Koni what bunk do you want?" said Kane. He pointed to the bottom one. "Ok that was easy." Said Loki. "Oh and you two have a couple of gifts on your dressers and you two will be sharing a closet. Koni gets the right side and Kane you get the left. "Ok dad." Said Koni. "I already knew I wanted to get 5 year old boys in the future so I already had clothes picked out for you both. I hope you like them. If you don't we can go shopping later. Now its getting late why don't you boys get some sleep." "Thank you dad." "Sure boys sweet dreams. Mom will come in soon to say goodnight." "OK dad."

"Hello boys. Are you all situated and comfy." "Yes mom we are." "OK boys. Do any of you want a goodnight kiss or huh?" "I'll take a hug." Said Kane. "OK sure." She gave Kane a hug. Then I said, "What about you Koni. You want both?" He nodded yes. I kissed him on the cheek and gave him a hug. Then ruffled both their heads. "Ok boys. See you in the morning. Sweet dreams."

A few days later I had to visit my father and I brought the Boys and baby along Loki had to work. "Akela I'm going to take the boys to my room and give Koni a talking too ok?" "Ok then. You 3 have fun." "We will don't worry." Then they went in her room and I visited dad while Evi had the baby.

Back in the room Nixie had the boys sit on the couch in the room. "Ok first of all I'd like to know how it is living with your mom and dad." "Its ok. We are helping mom a lot with the baby. Pretty soon I will be starting training with Kira." "Oh you are going to train with uncle Kira?" "Yeah why? Well since I am 18 now I think I will give it a shot. Before mom wouldn't let me. She said I was too weak. Now that I am older I am going to ask him to train me. As for you Koni. I kind of figure you were in a bad situation before coming here. I understand. Then she told him about her situation when she was little. "Oh I'm so sorry. Auntie Nixie." Said Kane. "Its ok it happened a long time ago. I still have mom and my unborn sibling in mommy's belly. So Koni I do understand. If you ever want to talk about the situation let me know. I am here." "I am here too brother. I have been there for 2 years. I may not remember what happened, but they told me about my parents. They covered me to protect me. They both died trying to protect me was all they said. They didn't say what. I at least knew my parents names Clara and Cullin Germain." "Wait you are the Germain's baby? I heard they protected a child I didn't know you were their child though. I knew your parents for a long time. I can tell you if you want to know what I can tell you." "Yes." "Ok then. What I read in the paper. That night 2 years ago you and your parents were heading home from somewhere then a bunch of men ganged up on all 3 of you. Your parents covered you so you didn't get hurt. After that it said someone took you to the orphanage." "I see so it was just bunch of bad guys." "Yes I am sorry." "Its ok. You lost your daddy too." "Thank you." "See Koni. Its ok to talk if you want to tell us. It might help."

Koni tried to speak but couldn't. They thought maybe he chose not to but something didn't seem right. "Here why don't you write something down." Said Nixie. He took them from Nixie and started writing. This is what he wrote:

I talked before. I got sick then after I got better I don't talk anymore. Mommy and daddy don't want me anymore." "Oh I'm sorry Koni. So a sickness made you mute. I'm Sorry." Said Nixie. "Yeah I didn't know either. Sorry brother." Koni smiled then patted Kane on the shoulder. "OK shall we go see you mom?" Koni nodded. "Mom is it almost time to go?" "Yes we will leave soon." "Good because we have something to tell you about Koni." "OK sounds good. You dad should be home soon so you can tell us as a family." "Ok mom."

We got home and Loki just walked in the door as well. "Oh hello. We meet at the same time. Did you see your dad?" "Yeah I did. The boys have something to tell us." "Ok let me take the little one from you and get her down. I'll be right back." Then he put the baby down and went to the living room to join everyone.

"OK so what is this thing you need to tell us?" I said. "Well we talked to Auntie Nixie. We got him to write down what happened. He used to be able to talk but when he got sick and healed his voice didn't work anymore. So he can't talk. His parents left him after that." "Oh honey I'm so sorry." I said. "So Koni what is your story?" said Loki. "I'm sure you know if auntie Nixie knows. I was the Germains son." "Oh you were the child they protected. I'm so sorry. You both had a hard life. Come here boys." I cuddled up to them. "Its going to be ok now boys. I will protect you. Your new family will protect you. I promise." I said. "Oh When the baby gets older I plan on getting a little sister or big sister for her and taking in one who can't change into a pet. What do you boys think?" "Yeah sounds good mom." Said Kane. "Hey Mom. Dad. Is there any way we can get his voice to come back?" "I don't know Kane. Lets take him to the doctor and see what they say ok?" "Thanks dad." "You know Kane. You are pretty mature for your age." "Yeah that's what Mr. and Mrs. Drummer said. "OK well let me tuck you boys into bed. Your dad has got your sister. He will come in and say goodnight to you boys." "Ok mom." Then she gave Koni a hug and kiss and gave Kane a hug and ruffled both their hair. "Night boys. Sweet dreams." "Night mom." Then she left and Loki went in.

"Ok boys I'll see you in the morning ok?" He went over and ruffled the boys hair as a good night tradition. "Night dad." Night boys." Then he left for his bed.

The next morning once Everyone was up, I had Leo and Aqua watch the baby while we took Koni to the doctor. We also had Kane with us. Finally it was our turn. "Hello Akela. Come in on in." So I went in with the boys. "Ok so we are here for which boy?" "This one. His name is Koni. He wrote down that his voice stopped working after he got over a sickness. He is an orphan I took in." "Ok Let me take a look." The doctor touched his neck and felt around his Adams Apple. "Open your mouth." Koni did as he was told. "Well I will have to do some tests. From what I felt in his neck there were some bumps probably old scars from when he was sick causing him not to speak. Lets run some tests to see if we can do anything." "Ok Kane go with your dad to the waiting room. I'll be here with your brother ok?" "OK mom."

They did the tests, and waited for the results. After a couple of hours of waiting the doctor said, "Well I don't see what we can do here. I'm sorry. Don't loose hope though. Their might be someone who can help. He lives in the village 2 days from here. A doctor Zen." "Wait Dr. Zen? I know the man. If he can help that would be a miracle. I will let Loki know. Thanks doctor." "NO problem." I went out to tell Loki the news. "I see. We will have the leave the little one at home with someone. I hate to leave her with Leo and Aqua for that many days. I know what about your mom? Since you dad works and Evi is pregnant. I was thinking maybe your mom can keep her for a few days. She even bought a crib for her." "Aww so sweet. OK lets ask mom. When should we leave?" "We can head out today. Lets stop by your moms now." "OK then. Come on Kane. We are heading to grandma's house." "Ok mom." We stopped by Leo's got the baby and took her to moms.

"Hey mommy. Hey daddy." "Oh hey honey what's up?" "Can you watch the baby for a few days?" "Of course. What's wrong?" "Nothing. We are going to the village that dad was from. We are going to see doctor Zen for Koni's voice. She told him about his situation. "Oh I see. Yes of course I will honey. I will stop by Azula's as well with her." "Ok mom thanks." We decided to stop by dad's house to see if he wanted to come since we are headed in that direction. "Yeah sure. I'm sure Nixie will help out her mom right?" "Yeah and we can also hire a nurse for a bit." "Ok then lets go we are leaving now." Dad hurriedly packed his stuff and they headed out.
