Kun Shang was being held upright by Silang and they were standing behind the new girl who had just arrived. Everyone bent their neck lower to see them in the back. Even the new girl turned around to see them with surprise in her eyes.
When Yu Yue arrived, it looked like she cooled the situation down faster than the ice walls, ice floor, and ice doors around them. Kun Shang and Silang followed her to greet the Grandmaster who was glad to see her disciple back from the one month isolated self cultivation.
The knowledge soon fell upon them that Yu Yue was the Successor Disciple of the Grandmaster, the child prodigy and master bender of wind. She was wearing a white hanfu dress with silver embroidery and a thin sheer white robe on top. Her long silky hair was down, acquainted with hair pins that were accompanied by flowing white ribbons. Everyone could tell that she was on a different level than the other disciples in the background. Her image and presence was glowing from the front of the guest hall to the back of the room.
Yu Yue's looks were stunning and gorgeous as well. She was absolutely beautiful, but not beautiful like Lady Yangyi or the other rich pampered girls. She was the pure, natural, bright and chaste kind of beautiful. The kind evil will wither upon her mere appearance. Yu Yue had large eyes, the kindest eyes, a small dainty nose, rosy pink lips and a pointy chin. She had very noticeable baby hair that was combed down to swirl into a little curl at the top of her face. Her whole image looked like a complete goddess.
Her look was the opposite of the Grandmaster; sweet, beautiful, gentle, and very humble. Her smile towards Xiaogua and Xiu'er was so warm, even to Chun Yi, that they held their breaths for a slight moment.
Kun Shang and Silang helped Xiaogua and Xiu'er up. Kun Shang glanced at Chun Yi before leading them to the front of the room, trying his best to walk by himself with a hand on his chest. He and Yu Yue went to pay respects to the Grandmaster together.
Kun Shang explained to everyone in detail that he came here in search of someone who has very strong wind energy. On the way here, there was an accident and they had to request help from the Sect.
"Why should we believe you?" The Master to the right of the Grandmaster asked. She looked older with visible wrinkles around her eyes and mouth. "And who told you that we have that person here?"
"That's correct." Another Master said. "We don't know you, yet you come here with your life hanging by a thread, asked to use our sacred Spring and now you ask of our Successor Disciple."
"Madam Qiu of Apricot Reborn Brothel told me about this place." Kun Shang looked around first before saying. "She said you could lead me in the right direction."
The Grandmaster slowly nodded her head, her eyes in deep thoughts as she paced the platform. "Very well then. You're lucky to have the support of Master Qiu. Yu Yue is indeed our strongest disciple and she is a natural with air. However, that doesn't mean I am obligated to help you in any form. Yu Yue has nothing to do with you. The only direction I can point you to is back where you came from."
"Please. I--"
"Also, about the Holy Cursed Lady from Hidden Butterfly Valley. What is your relationship with her?" The Grandmaster continued.
Kun Shang explained that his life or death situation with Chun Yi was just an accident that could not be avoided and he thanked the Western Sect for saving his life, for allowing a place for him to recover.
All of a sudden, Xiu'er remembered about A'Li and disrespectfully excused herself to the guest rooms.
"You're not allowed to go anywhere yet!" The Grandmaster's voice roared over her head. Disciples by the door crossed their swords together to block her exit.
Xiu'er turned back around. "You don't understand. If A'Li doesn't have fire he's going to die!"
The Grandmaster creased her eyebrows. "Who is this A'Li you speak of?"
"Grandmaster, it's the monkey that came with them," Master Quan said. "From what I understand, the monkey has a very weak core to the cold. All our firewood was lent to make fire for him."
"You brought... a monkey into my Sect!?" If the Grandmaster didn't look scary before, now she does. Her lips were twisted and her nose flaring.
"You have to understand, Zhanglao. He is my younger brother!" Xiu'er quickly crawled under the swords of the two disciples blocking her way.
"You--" Before the Grandmaster had time to start her sentence, the girl was already at the end of the pavement and disappeared around the corner.
