Dao of Dimension

Gao Liang and Xiuying hastily retreated as Hualing phased right through the threads that bound her.

Zhongming frowned at the casual feat that the Soul Integration cultivator had just pulled off.

The array that he had cast was a type of conceptual binding; it was similar in nature to the Domain of Locality. Obviously, it was an uncountable order of magnitude weaker. However, for Soul Integration cultivators, it should at the very least have been a nuisance.

Seeing Hualing effortlessly shrug off the most potent binding array he could cast was a bit demoralizing.

Of course, such an outcome was not unreasonable. After all, most Core Formation cultivators couldn't even touch a Nascent Soul cultivator, needless to say, a Soul Integration cultivator.

This time it was Hualing's turn to go on the offensive. With a few quick and precise steps, she had bypassed the two cultivators standing in the front; her target was the lone cultivator in the back.

Frantically, Gao Liang and Xiuying tried to intercept her, but being an entire realm lower than their senior meant that they were no match for her in speed.

A loud sound thundered across the area as Hualing's outstretched hand slammed into Zhongming's conceptual barrier. Sparks flew as the barrier successfully repealed the attack.

Undeterred, Hualing casually phased through the barrier, just as she had slipped through the array of binding earlier.

Zhongming was really at a loss; he had no idea how she was doing that.

The binding and barrier arrays that he had cast before were conceptual and should have extended to every possible nth dimension. Indeed he had run many tests with Master Mo to ensure that they covered every conceivable angle of attack.

In general, arrays that did not consider dimensionality could be easily countered by mid to high-level cultivators.

For instance, if we used a sheet of paper as a reference, casting a barrier would be represented by a two-dimensional circle. Any being that existed in that particular piece of paper would consequently be unable to either enter or leave the barrier.

However, experienced cultivators could transcend to the third dimension and leave the paper. It was then a simple matter to step over the circle and then transition back into two dimensions. In this manner, even without breaking the barrier, they can easily get past it.

This particular trick could be extended to the nth dimension indefinitely.

Both of the arrays that Zhongming had cast should have prevented such a thing. So even if she had entered the most complex infinite nth dimension, she should have still been affected by the arrays!

One explanation that came to mind for Zhongming was that Hualing was capable of creating her own dimension where she could arbitrarily delete certain concepts, and indeed this was the case.

It's not that the barrier didn't exist in Hualing's self-created dimension. It did, such was the capability of an array co-designed by Mo Li.

Instead, when she moved into her own personal dimension, she could remove the concept of barriers. Thus, even though the barrier existed, it became a meaningless construct with no functionality.

Once Hualing had entirely bypassed the barrier and reached Zhongming, she grabbed him by the face and lifted him up. Zhongming quickly tried to set up an array, but alas, he was too slow.

Zhongming's two teammates had finally caught up, yet once again, they could not close the distance!

Huffing in annoyance, Xiuying activated the power granted to her by understanding the Dao of information.

She rewrote the distance between the two and Hualing, changing it from infinity to zero.

Instantly the two Nascent Soul cultivators felt their attacks connecting with nothing?

Just as Hualing phased all of Zhongming's arrays, she also phased through the attacks from her juniors.

As the two passed through her body Hualing, threw a back fist followed by a kick.

The attacks sent Xiuying and Gao Liang flying back.

If it weren't unladylike, Xiuying would have growled out in frustration.

Zhongming grabbed the arm that held him, trying desperately to remove her grip on his face. But, unfortunately, it was to no avail, as he utterly lacked the strength to deal with a Soul Integration cultivator.

Once again, Gao Liang and Xiuying rushed towards the woman who held their teammate hostage; seemly fixated on freeing him from his captive's grasp.

However, right before they reached her, Zhongming's body transmuted into clay as thousands of razor-thin threads shot out, and once again bounded Hualing, the faux body quickly turned from hostage to trap.

On the other side of the clearing, an array once again sprung to life. This time Zhongming projected a single thought directed towards his two teammates.

Hualing merely phased out of Zhongming's trap, or at least she tried to. When she tried to move, she found that she was still under the bondage of the threads! How? Her thoughts were quickly cut short as two powerful attacks landed on her.

Ah, of course, Hualing realized! Zhongming's trap was the marker, Gao Liang's Dao of Karma was the anchor, and Xiuying's Dao of Information was the effector!

Zhongming had activated three arrays in quick succession, Body Replacement, Binding, and Tracing.

Usually, for cultivators of lower realms, the karmic reach was severely limited, so even for Gao Liang, who commanded the Dao of Karma, it would be impossible for him to establish a link into Hualing's private domain.

But with Zhongming's trace, he didn't need to bother with Hualing at all; by following Zhongming's karma, Gao Liang could establish a link to Hualing's dimension.

Using this link, Xuiying used her Dao of information to impose all the existing concepts back into Hualing's dimension.
