Fourth day trying to revive this novel...
....
Amid a tense atmosphere, the morning classes came to an end.
After we were done with the classes, I decided to visit the student assembly.
I needed to understand the reason behind such a crazy arrangement.
Surprisingly, I was not the only one with that idea.
First, Ley and Hela decided to follow me. Sylvia pondered for a moment and thought it could be interesting to come so she tagged along.
Leon overheard us and learned that we were planning to come to the student assembly, so he joined the group. After seeing that, the rest of the class decided to join too.
Coincidentally, the celers and eblors had some business with the student assembly, so they also came.
In the end, a strange group of humans, celers, and eblors headed to the student assembly.
During the way, the atmosphere was like a powder keg about to explode. Fortunately, the three parties seemed to have thought it was not a good idea to initiate a fight now.
When we arrived at the student assembly, Jazmine and Harold were waiting for us.
He heaved a tired sigh when he saw the situation.
"I think I know why you are here. For now, follow me to the office. Jazmine, you take care of our eblor and celer friends."
"Understood."
We followed Harold into his office.
"Okay, go ahead and ask your questions."
Leon opened his mouth immediately, almost shouting the question everybody wanted to ask.
"Why are the aliens taking classes with us!? In the academy crazy!?"
"Calm down. No need to get agitated." Harold crossed his arms. "You should have heard the official reason from Professor Javier already. The academy thinks that this is a good experience for you."
"What bullshit!"
"The only kind of good experience with aliens is killing them," Lars stated coldly. "Do the professors really expect we get along with these freaks?"
Harold shrugged. "That was what they said."
"Why did they not consult us beforehand?" Andrew asked. "We should have the right to decide if we want to take classes with them or not."
"According to the law, you don't. The academy is free to include any student in any class. It's true that we should have consulted you, though. However, there is nothing I can do. I learned about this just this morning too, only a bit earlier than you did."
"Then, is there nothing we can do?" Andrew asked again.
"You could write a complaint, but I'm not sure if it will be useful."
"Representative, you said that the official reason was that the academy thinks it's a good experience for us," I spoke up at that moment. "Does it mean that there is another reason?"
Harold fell briefly silent before replying.
"This is just something I heard from a professor, but apparently, the eblors and celers were the ones who asked to be put in class one."
"Could it be that they are plotting something?" Leon asked with a dark expression.
The representative shrugged, indicating that he did not know. However, I think I may know the reason.
'It must be to get close to Sylvia.'
I glanced at Sylvia with a pensive expression. Feeling my gaze, she looked back at me and winked.
Sylvia must know that they are here to observe her. However, she doesn't seem to care.
Well, she is pretty mysterious herself, and considering how powerful her family is, the eblors and celers must seem like a joke to her.
After that, several others asked some questions to Harold, but the answers were similar to what he said before.
In conclusion, we were forced to study with the eblors and celers, unless we decided to stop attending classes.
We were dissatisfied with the result, but we could only bear with it.
Still, all of us decided to write a letter of complaint.
I doubt it will be useful though.
Harold received our letters and promised to pass them on to the higher-ups of Sanctuary's First.
When we were about to leave, Harold called my name.
"Jane, can you stay for a moment?"
I was surprised but nodded.
"Is there anything you need?" I asked after the others left.
"Yeah, I need your help for something."
"I'm having a bad feeling about this."
Harold smiled wryly.
"It's about the eblors and celers."
"I knew it." I grimaced. "I thought today could not become worse."
"Actually, it's not that bad. The eblors and celers asked the academy if they could experience our training facilities, and the academy agreed. They granted them access to the virtual world."
"So I need to show it to them."
"Exactly. You just need to take them there and make sure that nothing out of hand happens. Don't worry, Professor Sol and Jazmine are going with you."
I sighed tiredly.
I can already imagine it won't be peaceful.
For an instant, I wondered if there was an excuse I could use to avoid this mess. Unfortunately, I could not think of any.
Plus, this could be considered part of my responsibilities.
"I understand."
I nodded reluctantly.
Harold heaved a sigh in relief.
"Thank you."
He then hesitated briefly as though considering something.
"… Actually, there is another favor I need to ask you. If you can, try to provoke them a little before they enter the virtual world."
I was taken aback, but soon, I understood his meaning.
"Is this the intention of the higher-ups?"
Harold nodded.
I fell deep into thoughts.
Is the academy planning to use this opportunity to study the combat tactics of the eblors and celers?
However, the eblors and celers are not idiots. They should know the academy's intentions.
Troublesome.
However, I remembered the incident that happened earlier in the classroom.
Somehow, it seemed doable.
