Fifth day trying to revive this series...
...
When I left Harold's office, I found my sister, Sylvia, and Hela waiting for us outside.
Hela immediately grabbed my hand, prompting Ley to do the same. Sylvia, on the other hand, just looked at us with an amused expression.
I smiled wryly.
"Not now. I have work to do."
Hela hesitated briefly before releasing my hand. Instead, she pinched a corner of my shirt.
"Can I?" She asked timidly.
Her pleading gaze was so pitiful that I found myself agreeing before I noticed.
Well, this is better than her holding my hand all the time.
"What did the representative want from you, brother?" Ley asked after letting go of my hand reluctantly.
"Just a bit of help with the eblors and celers."
Ley frowned.
"Is it very troublesome?"
"I hope not." I sighed.
"By the way, Sylvia. I was wondering if we could add Hela to our team. What do you think?"
"Hmm? Sure, I don't mind."
I let out a sigh of relief.
I expected Sylvia to agree, but it was unavoidable to feel nervous before getting her approval.
"Now, we can finally say that you are part of our team, Hela." I smiled at the black-haired girl.
She lowered her head and nodded.
Although she did not show any signs of joy, I could feel that she was happy.
With this, our team was almost complete. We only needed one more person.
"Jane, you are here," Jazmine called out to me at that moment. "Did Harold explain the situation to you?"
I nodded and looked at the eblors and celers.
"They want to experience the virtual world, right?"
"Yes. Professor Sol is already waiting for us there. Should we go?" Jazmine asked the exchange students.
The celers and eblors nodded.
"By the way, can they come with us?" I asked while pointing to Hela, Ley, and Sylvia.
Jazmine nodded.
"It doesn't matter. As long as they behave."
Just like that, we headed to the room that contained the virtual pods.
The place was just as I remembered it. A completely white room filled with human-sized pods that served to link the mind to the virtual world.
Unlike during the entrance examination, the room was not empty this time. Around half of the pods in this room were being used, mostly by students from senior years.
Professor Sol was waiting for us at the entrance.
"You are here. Follow me. The virtual reality pods you are going to use have been prepared already."
As we entered the room, I noticed that some of the eblors were looking around curiously.
"Is this the first time you use VR technology?" One of the celer asked the eblors.
It was one of the two females in the group. Her name should be K'erta.
Of the five celers, she was perhaps the most human-like. However, a single glance was enough to know she was not human.
Two deer-like antlers adorned her head of blonde hair, her ears were squarish, and her pupils were much bigger than human ones, with the outer part of the pupil being bright yellow and the inner part black.
She also wore some kind of technologically advanced glasses, although I was not aware of their function.
The eblors were taken aback when K'erta talked to them. One of them, however, was excited to have a new conversation partner.
"It is. This should not be your first time, right? I heard that the humans bought this technology from the celers." Lily said.
K'erta smiled.
"This is not my first time. It's my first time seeing this model, though. We stopped using it a couple of decades ago. I never expected humans to still use it."
A displeased gaze came from Professor Sol.
"If you don't like it, you don't need to use it."
"Well, I'm interested in seeing how this relic performs." K'erta disregarded the professor's displeasure.
Professor Sol's eyelid twitched violently. I felt like she was suppressing the desire to bear K'erta.
However, although she disliked the eblors and celers, she did her best to not show it.
"Cough. The way to use it is very simple. You just need to enter the pod and close it. Once inside, don't resist. It will take your mind inside the virtual world. Does any of you want to try it?"
"Let me do it." One of the eblors raised his hand.
It was Arche.
He walked toward one of the pods with a solemn look and entered it.
Before closing the pod, he looked at me and asked a question.
"I heard that the students of Sanctuary's First must challenge the virtual world during their entrance examination. Am I right?"
Professor Sol was startled.
"Yes, you are right."
"Can I ask which was the best result?"
Professor Sol put on a strange gaze.
"Well, one of the students reached the seventy-ninth level."
Arche nodded.
"I see."
He then glared at me before closing the pod.
Wait a moment, does he think I'm that student?
Is he trying to challenge me?
However, he is misunderstanding something.
I barely managed to beat the sixtieth level.
'Well, this is good. If he thinks I reached that level, he won't give up easily. Perhaps he will end up showing some of the eblor's secrets.'
It seems like I don't have to bother provoking him.
Unfortunately for him, reaching level seventy-nine was not that easy.
The enemy in that level is at the peak of tier seven, just one step below becoming a high-tier monster.
Arche is strong, but he should not be at that level yet.
He is not strong enough to challenge Sylvia's results.
He is far from enough to challenge that monster.
