Chapter Twenty - Helius, God of Weaponcraft

It took us approximately three Heris to reach our destination, even though we were travelling inside Alyss. That was mostly because of our destination being fairly far from the Alliance HQ, and it also was fairly well hidden, so we had to travel an half a Heri by using subspace engines, navigating around black holes, neutron stars and other dangerous celestial bodies.

At the end of this extremely dangerous space labyrinth, what awaited us was a huge space fortress armed with a wide array of different weapons. It has drones and other smaller spacecraft flying around it, keeping the defensive perimeter safe. It was nearly twenty-times larger than Alyss herself, but unable to move, as it was a station, not a vessel.

I decided to let myself to be known that I am here, so I activated the comm systems to try and contact the other side. "Hey, Helius. It's me, Dorian. You there, buddy?"

As if prompted by my sudden call, the station and its weapons started to turn. Warning systems went from level zero, the safest, to level three, the most dangerous. It got me thinking along the lines like "he has a new toy" or "his usual welcome party is starting with something new again" as i hit a few buttons to raise our shield output to it's overloaded state.

"Oh c'mon, buddy. That's a bit of an overkill, is it?" I said to the comms with an amused tone. As a reply, a bright, gold beam came forth from one of the newer weapons of Helius's station. Gotta hand it to the god of weapons. He knows how to make superior guns and such.

Alyss's plating started to heat up by an insane amount, so i decided to step in and deflect the beam by manipulating space around us, redirecting it somewhere into space.

Both of the girls aboard came running to the CIC with screams like "WTF is that" or "Are we under attack" and such nonsense, at least this time. I turned myself in my chair to them with a grin, smiling like i knew what's going on. "We're here, at our destination. That beam was just a welcoming gift to us. Its his way of saying hi to us. Y'know, he's a god of weapons after all."

"That guy is nuts. I already don't like him." Annie responded to my statement, as she was fairly angry, probably thinking about kicking Helius's ass up the sky. Jaina just stood there, unable to say a thing, as she watched my happy smile as i conversed with Annie.

"Yeah, he's kinda hit in the head. He has this thing for strong weapons and immediately after he builds one, he really wants to try this and that." I finished our little chat and set a course to the station's docking bays.
