Chapter 8

[Jenna and Yuna just kept quiet while waiting for Leo.]

[Leo finished his appointment. And they all went together outside.]

[they all went their own ways. Jenna went home, as well as Yuna, and Leo to work.]

Just right after Jenna left, and before Yuna could leave. Leo asks her, "why are you so quiet you seem very troubled. It kinda bothers me, where's the nuisance that you are?"

"Idiot! you are worrying too much. I'm just memorizing something."

"Oh, okay!" Leo smiled.

[Yuna went home for the day, Leo went to work.]

SEPTEMBER 29

[Leo woke up as usual. And does all his regular stuff. Nothing too special happened recently.]

Leo sat down and picked up his notebooks, he wrote, "I've been feeling off the moon recently, life has been treating me well."

[Leo notices something under the notebook, he saw the envelope that he kept under the notebook from a few weeks back. He picks it up and opens it.]

Leo inhaled deeply reading the contents, "Hey Leo, it's been a while. How are you doing over there? We hope you're doing just fine. I know we could just message you on the phone. But sending this letter is better since you'll be able to keep it like the others. Sincerely yours, aunts and uncles,"

Leo was out of breath.

He grabs his phone and finds Yuna on his contacts, and texts her, "Nuisance, I'm bored. Do you have time? Let's go out," he just puts his phone down again.

[A few minutes later, Leo is fixing his room. His phone buzzed.

He checks his phone, Yuna replies, "whaaaat? I'm still on the bed. If you're willing to wait for a while I'll be there in 30 minutes to an hour."

["If I think about it. I know where Yuna lives. We used to play near their house when we were young. Ugh, where was it again? It's onnnnnnn. Ah, I remembered where it was. I'll surprise her, I bet she won't expect it."]

[Leo prepared to head out, he saw it was snowing outside. He made sure to bring an extra scarf just in case Yuna forgets.]

…

[20 minutes of waiting after. Yuna was finally prepared to go out.]

Yuna is walking downstairs, ["I wonder where I and Leo will go, I don't know where but I'll be fine wherever we do go."]

Leo is starting to get bored, so he just stood straight up from leaning into the wall. He was preparing to ring the doorbell, "here goes nothing I guess, she's taking too long."

[Before Leo could push the doorbell, the door opened, and it was Yuna. Both of them were surprised to see each other, and standing in front of each other.]

Leo was surprised by Yuna, her great personality combined with her sparkling look, and her amazing pose left Leo Starstruck. "Y-Yu-Yuna!"

"Leo"

"Ah hehe, you go first," Leo said, worryingly scratching his back.

"What are you doing here? How did you know I lived here? You were stalking me weren't you?"

"Stupid," ``Leo pats Yuna and points to the direction of the park they used to play in when they were young.``"remember the park over there? We used to play there and I recalled that you lived nearby."

Yuna smiled, "you remembered then? That's awesome."``Yuna looks both ways, ``" Where do you plan to go?"

"You're annoying, first things first, of course, I'll remember that park that way. But speaking of where to go, let's just roam around the streets and we'll just see where our feet bring us."

[The two of them just roamed the streets while Yuna shared some stories of herself with Leo as they continued to walk farther and farther.]

Yuna's day brightens, she wraps her scarf around her neck. She notices Leo looking at her, "Hey you've been quiet since we left my house. Is anything bothering you?" She asked.

Leo rubs his face, chuckles, and then sighs, "I'm fine, I'm fine. How have you been today so far?" Leo nodded no.

Yuna noticed the subtle nod of no by Leo, but she just kept quiet, "as I told you, I was sleeping just before you woke me up."

"So, I guess it's my fault for bothering you then. My apologies, actually…" Leo was cut off when the train was passing by in front of them.

[After the train passed by them, they continued walking, and before they knew it. They found themselves in another park, it was just 8 kilometers away from Leo's house which is very close. They both sat down on the bench]

Leo relaxed comfortably, "as I was saying. Just before that train interrupted me. I apologize for bothering you."

"It's nothing, I've got nothing to do as well in the first place," ``Yuna moves closer while looking down to the ground. As if she intends to ask something but is shy.

Leo stares at Yuna, crosses his legs, rested his arm on the leg, and rested his chin on his knuckles, and said, "Have something to add more to what you have to say?"

"Actually, yes. Are you really fine? I saw you nod no just after you said you're fine," Yuna looks up in the bright blue sky.

"I have something to confess."

Yuna's heart skipped a beat, "uhm, ah, what is it, Leo? Feel free to open up."

"My family sent me a letter, I thought they forgot about me a long time ago. I know they care about me, but it's been a while since they've let me feel their presence."

"What about it?"

"I feel embarrassed of myself, ever since my grandparents died, I've depended on them to provide financial support to me," Leo said with a gentle breaking voice.

"You shouldn't feel bad about yourself, you still are doing your best, juggling both work and school, and yet you still manage to perform at your best and you still get high grades," Yuna smiled gently.

Leo burst into tears, trying to cover his face, "he said, it's been so much stress lately. I don't even know how to put it. I lied to you as well, I never manage to balance work and school. My grades are just average and I barely perform well in work."

Yuna was surprised, he held Leo's hand, "you'll get through this flawlessly. You've got me and Klau. You can lean on us if you feel like you need to. You don't always need to carry the burden all by yourself."

Leo faces Yuna and hugs her tightly, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I always try to put a strong front when I'm in front of you. I guess, I just became too independent. I thought I don't need anyone anymore."

Yuna rubs Leo and comforts him, "it'll be fine. Take your time, everything will be alright eventually."

Leo nodded and softly whispered to her, "thank you, Yuna. To me, you and Klau are the only ones left I can truly call family at a bare minimum."

"We'll always be here," Yuna continues to comfort Leo.

[10 minutes later, Leo calmed down. Leo and Yuna sat down properly.]

Yuna asks Leo, "are you alright now?"

"Yeah, I'm better now. Thank you, I think it was unexpected, but I think I needed that vent," his voice still shaking from crying.

Yuna awkwardly gestured no problem and then said, "you must be thirsty after that. Want a drink? I can grab one over there."

"Sure! Let's get some," Leo stood up when Yuna stopped him.

"Just stay there, I'll go buy us a drink. Just wait there. What do you want?"

"I'll get a canned espresso coffee," Leo cheekily smirked happily.

["I've thanked Yuna now. Klau is the only one left to thank, especially the one who always hangs out with me. Despite me being who I am."]

[Yuna walked off to the vending machine and bought the drink for the two of them. And went back.]

Yuna handed the drink to Leo, she just stood while drinking her drink and said, "don't you think the weather is too perfect today? It's just very beautiful. It's a light blue shade, pure white, and clean sky with no pollution at sight."

Leo looks at Yuna then gazes at the sky, "it really is. The harmony and calm you can feel just by looking at it."

A few moments later, Leo's vision started to fade and he felt very sleepy. Just before he completely fell asleep he softly said, "Yu-u-naaaa."

[After 30 minutes. Yuna lightly taps Leo in the cheeks. Leo's vision slowly came back. Even though he is still dazed from the sudden slumber he experienced, he slowly woke up little by little.]

"Wake up sleepy head, wakey wakey, you seem to be exhausted."

Leo slowly recognizes the face and says, "Kl….Klau? Wh-what? What are you doing here?"

"I don't know. I happen to spot you from a distance I guess."

"What? Whaa-? What am I laying on? It's soft, comfortable," Leo said, and then he slowly tilted his face to look straight up.

Yuna was the first thing that Leo saw when he tilted his head. Yuna chuckled and then smiled widely at Leo, "Hi! You just fell asleep so I thought maybe I could be your lap pillow."

Leo turned extremely pale and then blushed extremely hard after. He jumps out from Yuna, "Y-YU-YUNA! WHAT! WHY! HOW?! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to," Leo said loudly while stuttering.

Yuna looked at Leo with confusion, and then said "hmm? Is there something wrong with it Leo?"

"This is the start of that point where….. You're free to depend more on us, and you won't need to carry all the burden yourself. Don't push yourself too hard" Klau said loudly and then punched Leo on his arm.

Klau overexerted his punch and it was more powerful than a gentle punch, "argh, dude!! How am I supposed to depend on a crazy maniac who just says I should rely on them more but just punches me like it's nothing."

[The three of them just laughed it off]

"How did Klau know I was here again?"

"I might have something to do with it," Yuna giggles.

[35 minutes before Leo was woken up]

[When Yuna was buying on the Vending machine, she bought three drinks instead of two, one for herself and two for Leo. One espresso coffee on a can and one flavored espresso tea. She ripped the branding of the caffeinated espresso and put it on the espresso tea. She also dropped a piece of a drug that makes someone sleepy when they drink it.]

[Right before she came back to the park. She contacted Klau and told him to go to the park. And that's how Klau knew they were there.]

…

"So, that's how Klau knew we were both here."

"That's pretty much all of it. And she also said you were crying so I rushed as fast as I could but I couldn't catch you crying like a baby," Klau said while he couldn't stop laughing.

Leo came forward to Klau and slapped him hard, "how annoying!"

[The three of them just laughed it off. Leo is still concerned about what she opened up to Yuna. But at that moment he didn't care. They all just waited for the sunset and the sun to come down.]

[When the night came, Klau went ahead and took off to go home. Leo accompanied Yuna to her home. Right after, Leo went home and just lay on his bed.]

["Today was exhausting, but it's completely awesome today. I just didn't know Yuna would do that to me."] Leo thought to himself.
