Chapter 5- Into the Woods

Once into the woods, the first thing Shinju did was look around at the trees for a sturdy branch that she could sharpen into a weapon. As she looked around, she found a single branch that was just thick and sturdy enough to make a weapon. She then took about ten minutes to sharpen it into a fine point that was sharp enough to injure an animal or human that would try to attack her. With that done she started to walk deeper into the thick trees. As she was walking, about thirty minutes later, she noticed that the trees started to thin out and the ground under her feet got rockier.

"There must be a cliff or something into this area." she thought to herself. Around five minutes later, her guess turned out to be correct as she exited the trees to find herself at the bottom of a small cliff edge. It was a small cliff that she would be able to climb without any chance of fatal injury but, just as she was about to climb, she noticed a small hole in the cliff edge that was hidden away by the bushes and trees surrounding it. She took a look around the hole for any recent animal tracks, she did not want to take over the animals' home and was surprised to find there was no recent animal tracks. Intrigued, she decided that it would not hurt anything to spend five minutes checking out this camouflaged location. If she even needed a place to hide, it would be the perfect location to hide from anyone tracking her location.

With that decided, she moved the bushes aside with her stick and started to slide into the narrow hole. After what seemed to be forever, but really was one minute, the hole started to get bigger and bigger. Eventually she was able to stand up and walk further into what seemed to be a deep cavern. After one more minute of walking the cavern opened into something otherworldly! The ceiling was at least six feet above her head, the cave was big enough to fit a house in it, and there were what seemed to be glowing worms covering every inch of the cave walls. There was a small stream running through the cave leading to a small pool and the water seemed to glow with the blue light given off by the glowing worms. As she looked around the cavern, she noticed that the only entrance that she could fit though seemed to be the one that she came from. When she looked closer, the only other entrance was a hole about the size of a hand that the water for the stream flowed through and a tiny hole the size of a finger where the water exited.

"Wow!" she exclaimed as she looked around in awe of beautiful cave. Looking around at the obviously magical cave she came to the sudden realization that she was clearly alive and in another world. A magical world! A world where she had a second chance! To start over completely, to do whatever she wanted to do, to stop running away from a past that would always catch up to her. With this realization came a wave of relief and joy! No matter whatever drawbacks this new life came with, she would deal with it! After all, she was not known as her old world's greatest assassin for no reason! She would take this new life gratefully by the reins and cut down anyone that got in the way, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth was always her way and that will never change.
