The world outside worlds

Julian felt the world shift and stop around him, its colors fadind to gray and the sensation of his arms hugging his parents disappearing. And then, suddenly, he was somewhere else.

And... A paradise was the only way he could describe the place he found himself in.

He was on the verge of a precipice leading to an endless void. An endless void of infinite layer of clouds. Each of a different shade, there was blue, red, pink, purple and countless others. Each fading into each other in a harmonious manner not at all on the eyes. For exemple, the blue clouds were melting into purple, the red into pink and the yellow into orange.

Far away, and half buried beneath the horizon, was resting a gigantic sun glowing in a soft cyan light and strangly in an unblinding manner, almost as if it wasn't actually projecting any light.

The uncovered sky as for him, was of a dark shade of blue. Quite far from black but also not quite the familiar blue of earth's sky.

The lack of any life threading the heaven of this place gave the scene a sense of desolation, but at the same time. It also brought a sense of isolation, of peace, and of sanctuary.

Feeling the lukewarm wind softly blowing against his face. Julian took a deep breath of it and imprinted the scenery of it all into his very being.

All of his anguish, all of his self-loathing, and all of his anger. Gone just like that, melting away like snow in the sun when faced with the unreal sight in front him.

"Beautiful, isn't it? One of my favorite resting place..." A crisp, soothing voice inquired to Julian from behind.

Turning himself, Julian couldn't help but smile gently. "Indeed, thanks for bringing me here. I needed it..."

There she was, Kassmorra... The mysterious goddess of death who drastically change his life, he was sure for the better.

Like a timeless piece of art. She was the exact same as last time. Sitting at a simple stone table, itself amid a field of minuscule, unknown flowers the same color as the sky of this realm. Her extremely long pink hair flowing freely like a waterfall behind her, coating the chair she was sitting on and the ground below her. Some intrically made braids were also arranged in them, here and there. Along with them was an armament framing the top of her head the size of an hairpin, resembling a miniature crown made of black and red crystals.

Smiling a bit warmly at him noticing her kindness, she nodded. "It's okay, I've grown quite attached to you in the past seventeen years." She said lightly.

Waving at the chair at the other side of the table with one of her hand, she directly went to business. "Here, please take a seat. I have a bit to tell you before we can actually proceed."

Taking her up on the offer, Julian's gaze wandered a bit around before finally resting on the goddess.

"Now, what is, exactly, your favor consisting of?"

Tapping her red lips in thoughts, she began. "Do you remember your karmic judgment?"

Julian nodded, how could he not remember?

"Well, the karmic system that was used for your own was my personal one."

Only raising his brows in response, Julian waited for Kass to clarify herself.

Her wide smile turned and expanded into an almost too wide, sadastical grin, the ultimate embodiment of death chuckled. "It is a system I made with PUNISHMENT in mind, making every bad actions giving out ten times as much bad karma than it should."

Julian almost lost his composure at the new side the woman in front of him was showing, and the implications of what was said.

Frowning, Julian could only mutter uncertaintly. "Why...?"

Kass' face lost its grin and reverted to a small smile. "There's no grand reason behind it all. Each times 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 souls dies in a multiverse. I judge this soul personally with my karmic system. You just happened to be one of these souls."

Answering in advance any questions Julian had, Kass continued. "What happen to these souls who did more good than bad in their life but still end with negative karma you may ask?... Their punishment is simply given up upon and they can go on their afterlife like nothing ever happened."

Her face becoming dreamy and her body language becoming almost sensual, Kass smiled in delight and purred. "As for those true culprit of horrible deeds... They get their full punishment... Time two."

Julian, having recovered from his initial stupor at it all, took a breath and shrugged. In the end, it didn't matter to him if some douch ended up in eternal suffering. He just admited that these baddies had to have some really bad luck to be judge by her.

Still... kinda funny, for him at least, didn't seem to be for them.

There was still something that frustated him a little in all of that though, something which Kass was well aware off.

Calming herself, she met Julian's eyes and laid her head atop her hands. "Yes, if you were not judged by me. Your quantity of good karma would have been countless time larger. And so would have been your prizes from it."

Making an obviously fake sad face, she said in a downcast town. "Are you angry at me? Are you perhaps not satisfied with the consolation prize I gave you?"

Julian was pretty sure she wasn't speaking about all the little advantageous modifications she made to his wishes. And as he was supposed to be here for a favor, he simply asked curiously. "What prize?"

Goodies? yes please.

Suddenly vanishing from her seat, the goddess of death immediatly reappeared sitting on Julian's lap, caressing his defined jaw with her dainty hand and murmuring sensualy "Me, of course."

Julian was at an immediate lost, his first reaction came in the form of a thought passing trough his mind, it being how he never noticed how relatively short the goddess was. The second was in the form of a feeling, the feeling of the incredibly soft, and cold hand stroking his jaw, and of the smooth, silk like hair touching some of his skin. The third was in the form of a sensation, the sentation of the tantalizing body laying in his lap like it was just waiting for him to as he wish to it.

He was used to be the one taking the initiative in everything he did, a habit made even more proeminent with his life in DxD.

So, he was taken short everytime he was confronted in a so direct manner.

Despite the almost primal urge of squeezing her tight and take her right there that nearly overwhelmed his mind with its sheer intensity. Julian mightily strained his body to not move against his own will and greeted his teeth.

His body, it was his own, and only his own. He wouldn't have it any other way. If not, what was the point to live?

But despite all his unwillingness to budge an inch, his arms still slowly went on wrapping themselves around Kass.

And just before they did, the culprit who put himself in such a state teleported herself away and back on her seat. Taking on a apologetic expression, Kass struggled for a moment before dipping her head in a barely noticable manner. "I'm sorry, it was purely my misplaced curiosity and jealousy that birthed this unfair display."

She paused for a moment to let Julian recover from his exertion. "What you felt just then... Was your yearning as a living being for evolution and prosperity."

Julian would lie if he said he was not annoyed by what just happened. But realistically, he was in no position to do anything about it really. In fact, just the fact that a being such as Kass... Actually apologized to him took up his impression of her a few notches.

Feeling his weary and tired mind after the previous efforts suddenly feeling refreshed, Julian said. "It's okay, just please abstain to do that if you actually don't want to follow up on it."

"Also, what do you mean, by my 'yearning' for evolution as a living being?" Julian crossed his arms.

Her shoulders slouching a tiny bit in relief, the supreme reaper responded. "It's rather soon for you to know that. But, I think I can tell you this much... The short version is that... Evolution is an omnipresent concept in the SUPRAVERSE, the surname for all of existence. Even existence itself is always and has always been trying to improve, to perfect itself. And so is every lifeform general goal to evolve, to become a better version of themselves."

Taking a moment for her words to sink in, she continued. "The reason why you were affected was because I released a tiny sliver of the restraint on my natural aura as a 5TH dimensional being."

"How tiny are we talking about?" Julian was more interested in how much he had resisted a being of such magnitude, even if he didn't quite knew how strong she really was in the grand scheme of things, and it was only to restrain himself from taking her...

Hesitating a bit, she flinched a little, for him. "Mmmh, you wouldn't be able to picture it with numbers alone. So, I would say that if my aura was an universe, then what I unleashed just now was the equivalent of an atom..."

...

...

"Oh." Was all Julian could say. Should his pride take a hit or not? He really couldn't tell.

Kass, immediatly after getting her point across, added in a bid to comfort him. "It's actually incredible for you to even be able to stay clear-headed under it. With the amount of self restraint you showed, no 1ST dimensional being could hope to subdue you with their natural aura."

Julian was still not sure about a thing however. "I'm pretty sure where me wanting to fuck you and speaking about evolution is going. But I'll ask anyway. Why does this... instinct to evolve went haywire just because you released a part of your 'aura'?"

Kass nodded, her voice even, as if talking about a matter of fact. "You guessed right, of course even if basic instincts sometime doesn't seem to be in favor of keeping their host alive. There is always a reason for them to exist. It's because I showed a certain willingness to the act that your instincts overwhelmed you and threw themselves upon the opportunity to conceive a... descendant."

Then, she lowered her head a little and spoke in a more somber tone. "Even if it really happened, it wouldn't have worked out. I cannot carry your child, and you cannot impregnate me. We're simply too far apart..."

Julian stayed silent at her words. Him, having a child? Even with two life of experience he knew he wasn't ready for one. Be it mentally or emotionally, he would be an horrible father. Anyway, there was nobody he would want to share the task of parenting with right now.

Closely inspecting Kassmorra, the seemingly all powerfull goddess who seemed to have taken a liking to him for a reason he could only guess at yet. Julian thought about many things, one of those being his debt to her and his feeling of thankfulness to her help so far.

And he also thought. 'Why the hell not?'

Indeed, Kass was beautiful. unfathomably strong. Had plenty of money, probably did anyway. Was supportive of him. Her personality was not bad...

A good deal really.

During his judgement after his death, he hadn't really been in a right state of mind when he thought he could flirt with her when he got stronger. The proof would be his messy wishes and doubtful decision making ability at the time. But at this point, Julian didn't even know if achieving her level of strength was possible at all for him.

When he was judged for his previous life 17 years ago, he was just happy that he found someone who wouldn't care about his status. And what would be more perfect than a literal goddess for that right?

But now, it's been 17 years since then, 17 of growing in a loving family. Something he learned he wasn't reciprocating properly. He didn't care about interacting normally with people anymore. Now, he had other problems.

One of such problems being the rather sad goddess before him. Sad either because she couldn't have his child or have children at all. All of this he was pretty willing to give a serious consideration. But only when he was stronger.

Sighing at how much everything revolved around the same thing, Julian opened his mouth once again to ask something. "What in the world is a dimensional being"

Chuckling a bit and relaxing, Kass shook her head. "If I say too much at your current strength, you would vanish forever, and even I would not be able to do something about it. The Supraverse doesn't like it when we go against it. Do you remember the cultivation stories you read in your first life? Where mortal sought godhood by going against the heaven? It's the same thing. Only, existence is far more harsh and difficult to defy. For now, the only thing I can safely tell you is that you are actually a 1ST dimensional being.

Julian nodded his head, it was overwhelming to say the least. Just thinking seriously about the sheer magnitude of it all gave him a headache. And he didn't even knew much yet.

At least he understood, no exploring this world outside the worlds before becoming stronger.

Grasping both of her hands together. Kass smiled cheerfully. "Now that that's out of the way. We can finally talk about what you actually came here for. My favor, and your father."

Julian closed his eyes, trying his best to not think to deeply about his own stupidity.

"I said that it was 'impossible' to heal your father with anything other than existence energy, but it's not entirely true."

Julian leaned forward and opened his eyes, listening with interest at anything that could help him redeem himself.

Kass continued, a smile on her face. "That's where concepts enter the scene, and the concept your present self represent the most is..."

Losing her smile for a split second, she finished camly.

"IMPOSSIBILITY."
