Impossibility is fucked up

"IMPOSSIBILITY."

"As per your wish, your Nephilim self is one. You are not a being embodying this concept like the Ophis of your world. As no being can inherently be born from it, no such thing as a truly impossible being exist. Only existence itself, in the form of a wish like you did. Can make your essence have a spark of it." Kass gazed deeply, and meaningfully at Julian, who was just listening silently.

"Before I go too far in that, I want to tell you of my favor."

The wind blew as Kass stayed silent for a few second before asking weakly, pleadingly and hopefully all at the same time. "I want you... To thread on the path of true ascendence, to go against existence. To one day, maybe be at my side at the highest peak as a 5TH dimensional being." Kass closed her eyes after her words, waiting Julian's own.

As for the person himself, he was just tapping his feet casually on the rich, brown dirt beneath him. This favor... was within his expectations. It was just, there was so much unknow for him.

"It's acceptable, I can do with a long term goal. Becoming stronger was always one of my priority anyways. The reason for it just changed much over time..."

Shaking his head, Julian ran his hand through his middle-length hair and continued. "The problem is, how do I need to actually go about it?"

Kass smiled and afterward pursed her lips. "As I said earlier, I can't say too much. But the short version is that you have to gather a LOT of karma. As karma, is in fact, a sort of energy. It's not essential for you to know why right now. You also have to improve your... embodiment of a concept. As well as becoming the strongest possible in the physical plane in both body, and mind."

Then the 5TH dimensional being frowned in worry. "There is multiple ways to improve your concept. One of them is through inate qualities, like special magic, ability or even your race. By understanding the concepts and letting them permeate your body. Your essence will be converted more and more to the concept. As for what is an essence... It isn't exactly your soul, It is more your presence as something that exist. A proof of your existence. A combination of all of you. Your body, your mind and your soul."

Kass paused for a moment. "At least, that's how it work for other concepts. But Impossibility is different."

She took a deep breath for what was to come. "Impossibility... Is unique. As I again said earlier, it technically isn't supposed to appear in a being, or even ever manifest in any worlds. As what is impossible is going against the absolute, the certain."

"As such, no being above 1 dimensional entity represent it. Because, to 'cultivate' it. You have to gather sparks of it in your essence, little by little, to build a fire. What it truly mean is that, you have to do the impossible again, and again. Until you, yourself, can define what is impossible or not as you wish." Kass stopped talking at that, waiting for Julian's reaction.

And after a moment of tense silence, it came.

"Doing the impossible...? Going against the absolute...?"

With a wide grin splitting his face, Julian answered loudly. "Sound fun."

Frowning even harder, Kass warned. "If I transport you in another world than your original one. I will not be able to intervene much no matter what happen, as the one above all established some rules long ago concerning the grooming of 1D being."

Meeting Julian's eyes, she smiled sadly. "That's what concern me, as I wouldn't have to transport you to other worlds if it weren't for the fact that there are realms much more suitable to do the impossible."

Sobbering up at her words, Julian lost his grin and nodded in a determined manner. "Don't worry, even if it's unnecessary danger. I will do it all the same... No, I have to do it. For me. For you. For my dad." Julian clenched his jaw at that.

Staring at him unblinkingly for a few seconds, Kass sighed and smiled in a strained manner. "Very well, I was the one to lead you on such a path after all, I shouldn't be the most reluctant here. It's just so... Unusual for me to not have control on everything around me." She admitted.

Julian could somewhat empathize, as having control on everything around oneself was something everybody would want. He couldn't possibly imagine how frustrating having achieved that only to lose it afterward felt.

Leaning forward on the table, Julian smiled a bit. "It's just, it beckon me. This challenge. I could just stay in my world and and improve in it, but it would be quite boring in the end wouldn't it. And even then, this adventure in other worlds, from what I could gather. Would help me fulfil my wants and accomplish several of my goals."

Staying silent for a bit, he added with his grin coming back. "Besides, what's life but purposeless wandering without some stakes at play right?"

At that, Kass froze for a second before she relaxed and bursted into a light laught, akin to tinkling bells. "You're crazy, dear. But I guess you're right. No one truly strong didn't encounter any life threatening danger on their way."

Her laughter slowly stopping, she carried on. "If your mind is already set, then the next step is to choose your destination. Just from the multiple books and animes I saw you read during the judgement of your previous life. I have a handful to recommend you. Or do you perhaps already have a particular one in mind?" Kass tilted her head.

Thinking for a moment, Julian nodded and answered. "You said that Karma was important too right? Then I think I have an idea."

"The world of re-zero, for the absolute is present in that world in the form of the witch factors and their Authorities. As they are considered an absolute in their world, and they can't be totally resisted, or nullified, only avoided. This is a also world of suffering, where plenty of people need saving or deserve a chance. It is a perfect destination for me."

Kass, at that, sighed in relief. "It's good that you choose this world, as even if it's incredibly dangerous. I could do some things to keep you safer. As the Authority of the main character would be rather annoying for you. I could encroach you to his ability. Or even Hijack this little witch's curse to be cast on you, rather than this Subaru Natsuki, whether she want to or not."

Julian thought about it, and shook his head. "Just encroaching me to him would be enough. I really just want to help him, even if he realise it or not. For him to not be totally alone in his struggle. If that make any sense at all." He shrugged in the end.

It wasn't like him to empathize with people he didn't knew, but with Subaru. It was kinda different, as he even he felt bad for him the first time he read about him. But now that he knew he was a real person, he almost wanted to cringe at his sheer suffering.

"I just have a last question, Will I keep my power while going there or not? As I doubt my kind of magic exist there."

"Unfortunately, your physical prowess will have to be rebuild from the ground up again when you arrive. But as you are still a Nephilim, everything directly related to your blood will be kept. Like your destruction power and your trinity energy, and they will be adapted to it. And as they do not exist in that world, you will not be able to use your demonic and holy energy there. I highly recommend to use your talent and the power system of that world to become powerful again."

"Kinda suck, but it'll just be an opportunity to train my bloodline magic."

A confortable silent descending upon them, Julian took a final glance around and smiled. "Is there anything else?"

Kass smiled too, albeit more weakly, and shook her head. "No, not for now. Just... be careful of the authority. Oh, and for reedeming myself for earlier. Even if it's against the rules, let me grant you the ability to see your own essence, as it is essential for your smooth progress."

Julian gazed at Kass curiously, before waving his hand and nodding. "Of course. I still know about the story after all, I'll pick my fights wisely."

"Then, to next time, darling." Kass smiled genuinely this time, black blood beginning to leak from her eyes.

--------

Before Julian could even have time to say his own farewell and react to it, he felt an acute pain flashing through his head and saw the world around him fading.

Then, he felt as if he was falling through water. His body changing and transforming in the process.

He sensed multiple overwhelming presences? Entity casting their gazes upon him. All only to quiver in fear and immediatly disappear an instant later.

He couldn't exactly breath in this state, but he somehow knew he didn't need to.

The most drastic change and the one he felt the most was the destruction of his magic veins and in their places the appearance of two metaphysical gates, one connecting directly to his... Soul? Lifeforce? He wasn't sure. And the second gate being connected to the former.

One moment, he was seeing black all around. And the next, colors surged all around along with a cacophony of sounds. And it was loud, very loud. Stomping, talking, laughing and yelling meshed in a uncomfortable symphony of life that Julian found a lttle annoying to be trusted into after the absolute silence he was confined in just a moment earlier.

A particular dude just besides him was especially annoying as he yelled pratically in his ear. "A SUMMONING FROM ANOTHER WORLD!?"

It was so loud Julian would bet the shout could be heard in the entire city.

Turning himself to the teen wearing a black tracksuit, Julian pricked his ear and said loudly. "Dude, shut up. You're giving me a headache. beside, don't you see all these people throwing you weird looks?"

The young man, around 17 years old with short black hair and dark brown eyes. Snapped his head toward Julian in surprise. Tilting his head a bit to meet his eyes who were a little higher than his due to the difference in height. "Oh, sorry. Maybe I lost myself a bit. Well, I don't think you can understand." He said disinrestingly before doing a double take on Julian clothes, clearly of modern making.

Making an 'O' shape with his mouth, he pointed his finger at him. "Wait! You're not a local! You're from my world too! No way... Is it a double summoning?" The shut-in muttered the last part.

Julian crossed his arms and shook his head. "No way, you're the one coming from my world. Besides, were you also taking a piss when you were brought here?"

The boy eyebrows twitched a few times, for multiple reasons. He also wanted to ask many questions. But in the end, he settled for. "You were taking a piss?"

Shaking his head only a second after, Subaru changed his mind. "Scratch that, I don't want to know. As for me, I was on my way back from the grocery store when I was suddenly transported here." He pointed to his grocery bag contaning some chips and ramen.

Pausing for a moment, he said. "Well, as we are both from the same world and luckily both speak the same langage..."

Just realising how weird it was, the black haired teen took a deeper look at Julian's appearance. A thing that made him finally aware that he was speaking to a freaking adonis. "Wait, How come you can speak Japanese so perfectly? You don't seem very Japanese to me."

Julian waved his hand. "It's because I'm not, I was adopted by an european couple who settled in Japan."

"Oh." Not sure what to make of the information. Subaru continued where he left from.

"Anyway, as I was saying. As we are both in the same situation, I think it would be smart to stick together for the time being. As whatever summoned us doesn't seem very kind on welcoming us. Only if it doesn't bother you of course." He added in the end, throwing looks at Julian decidedly lethal muscles.

Holding out one of his hand, Subaru thumbed his chest with his other one. "I'm Natsuki Subaru by the way, pleased to meet you. You can call me Subaru, other world, other customs I guess. Better to get used to it now than never."

Eying his hand for a bit, Julian smiled and shook it. "This does sound like a good idea, I'm Julian Håberjorgen-Marquis, pleased to meet you Subaru. You can call me Julian as I've never met a japanese person able to pronunce my name correctly as of yet."

The presentation done, the duo decided to wonder around a bit in a bid to gather information. Subaru in the process letting out with a smile. "Man, I seriously can't believe it. I mean, being isekaied? It's a dream coming true."

Julian only thought about that was. 'A dream? More a nightmare coming straight from hell...'

But in the end, Julian shrugged and mused. 'Well, at least there's waifus.'

And with that, the duo of a Nephilim and a delusional shut-in began their decidedly fun adventure.

~~~~~~~~~~
Yo, Author here! As not everyone read through the author's note. I will write here from now on. Sorry for breaking the immersion. Now, I know this chapter is going to be controversial, but I don't care. I will write this arc to the best of my ability and we'll see how it goes.
Also, Important notice, I made some change to the last two chapters. Like where Julian said to bring in raynare, made it so she isn't coming in the world of re-zero in the end. Do read it again if you want especially the last chapter as many things were added to Kass' info dump. I want these instances of Julian adventures to be a bubble separated from the DxD main world where he will improve in multiple ways and collect girls. At least, they will be bubble until Julian himself have the ability to move through worlds on his own.
On another note, this arc will focus on fighting as well as Julian fighting tricky, and stronger enemy. Also dying, lot of dying as not everything will go his way, especially not in the beginning. Of course, this is until he roll over absolutely everyone in this world.
Finally, if you have anything at all to say about anything. You are absolutely welcomed to write it in the comment. Also, If you like this story, don't forget to drop stones. That's all, have a great night/day/evening!
