Chapter 25: Easy Level Dungeon.

It's been 1 hour since we left.

From the captial, to the Forbidden continent, it will take 2 weeks max. That's fine by me, as I have more time to collect my thoughts on certain matters.

"Sir. If I may ask.." I nodded at her. "Why did you want to take over this project? It's dangerous and you could potentially get hurt." Larius had his head on my lap with his body on the couch. He wore a satisfied smile as I played in his hair.

"Soldier. Can you keep a secret?" The main reason why humans are going to the Forbidden continent is to acquire land and extended their territory. "Yes! You can trust me!" I nodded as Larius giggled out.

"The truth is that I'm going to the forbidden continent to establish my own kingdom. One where theres no prejudice, or hate. One where anyone can be free." Hearing this, her face became complex.

"So...You wouldn't mind having a demon as your subordinate? That wouldn't scare you?"

"No, not in the slightest."

My answer surprised her. "I'm not scared of demons. In a way, there the same as us. They just want to live. They want to survive. If I can give them a place to feel safe however, those worries would go away.

From below, you could see Larius with a slight smile. 'Big brother is so nice! It's a shame that it won't last for much longer..' His smile slowly turned into a frown at his own thoughts.

"I see.." She put her head down. "Even after that happens, I would still be afraid of them. I...I just can't imagine it.." She closed her eyes, with me nodding. 'The fear of demons are rooted in them. I guess...I guess I'll have to find a way to get rid of that fear'.

We continued traveling for a couple of days. We never ran into any big problems, but we did run into a horde of horned rabbits. They were easily defeated though as Caroline just crushed them.

"Sir! I cannot permit you to go in by yourself!"

We stopped along the road to rest for a while. I happened to find a random dungeon in the woods, so I wanted to explore it. "If I gave the order then yes I can." Hearing this, she could only sigh and agree.

I wanted to hurry up and go in before Caroline notices anything. "Do not tell anybody that I've entered. Is that understood?" I spoke with a little bit of force, causing her to nod rapidly. "Okay then." I held on to Larius's hand even tighter, as he had his other hand on his stomach.

"Let's explore a dungeon."

We then walked into the black cave together and disappeared from her sights.

A few moments later, we appeared in a small, narrow cave. It wasn't dark for me, or Larius so we decided to continue. "I-Its so scawy Big bwother..." He looked all around with an expression of fear. "Hey. You don't have to act like that anymore. We're alone now.."

It was nice having him as a little brother. I just don't feel privileged to have him as mine though. "B-But..." He held my hand tighter. "I'm not acting.." He looked up at me while clenching his shirt.

'I wonder..'

"Okay. I'm sorry for what I said then." I nodded at him and he slowly nodded as well. We then got to this room that was no bigger than a gym. It was rocky all around with some torches on the walls. 'I guess it was already explored. I'm not surprised at that.'

No matter though. It'll still be an adventure. "Humanz..." I heard a dry voice that sounded broken. "Humanz.." Another one too. I then started looking around and noticed that we were being surrounded by goblins.

"Hey. I know you want this to last longer, but I need you to go back inside. My energy will be completely drained if I fight with you out too." I would probably fall to the floor if he stayed out here as I fought.

He takes up a lot of will power and mental energy, so adding that to my fighting will harm me. "Okay..." He was reluctant to go, but he knew he had to do it. He then said some words and turned into a black ball with purple fog oozing from it.

It shot inside of my chest, and I felt myself regaining strength. "I've been cooped up in that carrage for too long..." I started stretching with a smile. The goblins noticing this looked at each other then back.

When they did however, the noticed that the person was gone. The goblins in questing then saw nothing but black as their souls were extinguished. "Man.." I looked at the corpses around me.

"They couldnt even react..." When they looked back, I sped in between their group of 15. I then coated my hand in darkness and chopped at their throats. This all happened in about 2 seconds.

"Onto the next floor I guess.."

Dungeons have 5 levels of difficulties.

Easy.

Normal.

Medium.

Hard.

Expert.

Easy is usually for beginner adventurers. Normal would be for adventurer who just want something easy, but not too easy. Medium is for people like Mother. People who want to do adventuring full time. Hard is for people who would be rank B-A. Expert would be for S tier adventurers.

To determine the difficulty of a dungeon, you would use a 'Dungeon Examiner'. Its a device that looks like a radar basically. You would stand a bit away from the dungeon, and pressed a button on the radar. It would then scan the dungeon and come out with a number.

The numbers go from 0-1000, meaning if it says anything from 0-199, it's easy. Anything from 200-399, its normal. Anything from 400-599, its medium. Anything from 600-799, it's hard. And finally, anything from 800-1000, its expert.

Sometimes there could be dungeon outbreaks, but we still can't determine when those happens, as its random. When it does tho, everything moves up 2 categories.

An easy becomes Medium.

A normal becomes Hard.

A medium becomes Expert.

A hard becomes Continent Threat.

An expert becomes World Level Threat.

'Hope one doesn't happen to me.'

I started walking to the small stair well. It only opens when all the monsters inside the room your in are defeated. After I walked into the stair well, I magically appeared on floor 2. This time there was 16 goblins.

I could only sigh at their misfortune. I then went on a massacre until floor 100. "Hello human." A huge goblin with a crown talked to me. He had muscles that could rival a ps5 and was 6'0 in height. He had an army of around 50 goblins with Mage goblin and Priest goblins in the mix under him.

Mage goblins are goblins that can utilize magic. Priest goblins are goblins who can use magic, but only healing magic. "Are you prepared to die?" It asked me. "Yes. I am ready." My eyes gleamed a bit and I checked his status.

He was nothing special to be honest. He was level 15 which was low even for a boss. His skills were also terrible, but hey. We're in a easy dungeon. I think kids could come out alive.

"Go!" It shouted at the goblins and they immediately rushed at me with the mages and Priest goblins staying back. I stared at the scene and reached out into the air. A small black Portal appeared and I pulled something out. "Foolish Human!" It yelled at me while cackiling.

"You guys should stop.." I showed them what I pulled out, causing the goblins to immediately stop in their path. "No..." The small goblins said in a scared voice. "This will be you all if you don't get out of my way. I only want your boss."

I showed them the head of a Goblin Duke, second only to the king. "Yes..." They parted ways, shocking the king. "No! Fight him! Fight him now!" He ordered while pointing at me. Even the Goblin mages and Priest decided to stay away from me.

I was doing this all, as they weren't worth the effort. They literally won't even give me a single Xp. Well, the king would barely give me any too. "No! Kill them!" The king backed up a bit. "No, I won't. Well, when I'm finished with you, then yeah."

I wasn't going to kill them now, as I want them to watch as their strongest fall. I do still need their darkness though to help me.

I then rushed at the king, appearing in front of him in a split second.

"Wha.." The goblin king then saw darkness, only to never see light again. "It really is too easy.." All the goblins behind me then fell to the floor. "And they couldn't even react..." I could only sigh out in disappointment.

[Absorb "Goblin King", "Goblin Mage", "Goblin Priest", and "Goblin Soliders'", Evil?]

The panel appeared next to me and I nodded. The purple blood of the goblins then started moving towards me. It formed some type of magic circle around me, causing me to smile. 'Yes.. Give me more power...'

I closed my eyes and felt the blood pierce me in my leg. 'Go!' 'Wha..' 'No! Kill them!' The memories of all the goblins came into me. The feelings of death, feeling of fear, feeling of pride. It all came into me.

'A shame I can't infinitely do this..' These goblins will respawn. When they do, the completely forget the last 24 hours of their lives.

Anyways, I can't collect their darkness more than once as it disobeys the laws of this world. I was told however that when I'm strong enough though, I'll be able to infinitely farm.

▪︎Are you done yet..▪︎

His dragon face appeared in front of me. He made a black string that connected from my heart into the back of his floating face.

"Yes. It wasn't fun though.." The memories of the last 24 hours kept coming in. They didn't have that much activity with other humans as this place is in the middle if the forest.

These chains then sprouted from the ground and picked up the Crystal's that they dropped.

[Would you like to acquire the skills and items of the fallen goblins?]

I nodded at the panels.

[Action Approved.

Pending...

Pending...

Would you like to view the skills and items you you obtained?]

I nodded at the panel.

[Spear mastery.]

[Goblin club X1.]

The panels stopped there. I wasn't shocked by that as I basically took every goblin skill and item so far.

▪︎Big Brother is growing stronger! Its exciting!▪︎

His whole body then appeared. 'My mental prowess has increased too. How though...' Even though I thought that, I think I know why. "Hey Larius. Does my mental power increase at a fast rate because I take the will from the those dead monsters?"

I take their memories, so it must be true. In order to take in it all, my brain must get stronger.

▪That's exactly right bro! You take in every last detail of what they lived, so your brain adapts by getting stronger!▪︎

He floated up and gave me a head pat. "Thought so." The dead goblins on the ground then went up into particles and a chest fell down from nowhere. "Alright! Let's see if I get anything good!" I walked up to the chest while rubbing my hands together.

"I wanna open it!" He ran passed me and up to the chest. "O-Okay.." He then placed his hands on the chest and opened it up. "So? Did you get anything good?" I walked up behind him as he pulled something out.

"Its...Its a healing potion~..." He started crying while turning around. He had a bottle, which was designed like test tube with a cap on it, in his tiny hands. "Its because of your bad luck Larius." The Dark Emperor would of course have some sort of bad luck.

"But...But..." He started stuttering with big tear drops coming down his face. "Its okay.." I picked him up, as he held his face. "We'll explore a million more dungeons in the future. I can guarantee that we'll get something by then."

The Forbidden continent is know for its surplus of dungeons. That's also a reason why humans don't live on the Forbidden continent. Well that and how the dungeon monsters there are two times stronger than the ones they have.

'I wonder why the king wanted more land over there.'

"R-Really?.." He stared at me with his expression slowly lifting up. "Really..." He's really going through with this acting. It seems too real.

After about 10 minutes of, 'Reallys?' We finally left. "Its been like an hour. They shouldn't be that worried." We appeared out side the dungeon.

We then walked through the woods a bit before getting back to the carages. "You went in a dungeon alone slave?" She walked up to me, eating a glazed donut. "Oh? So you like them? There made of milk, honey-"

"Shut up. You talk to damn much."

I-I just wanted to tell you..

"But I must admit, they are good. Make more for me and I'll give you an reward." She stuffed the half eaten donut in my mouth and walked away. "She's too mean to you! I should teach her a lesson!" He almost jumped out of my arms, but I restrained him.

"It won't work. You could call her names, beat her up(or try too), but it wouldn't work. She'll just come back the next day with the same frown." I'm talking from experience if you couldn't tell.

I thought I did something that night, telling her off and stuff, but she came back to school the next day like it never happened. "Take her skills or something. That should show her."

Hearing this, I pondered. 'That's a good idea actually. Though, I think shes faster than my chains..' As I thought that, I had another thought. 'Maybe I could make a bullet that has the same properties of my chains. I'll call it a 'Reaper bullet'.

I smiled at myself then walked up to my coach carrage. "Everyone! Enough resting! We set out now!" I got into the carrage and sat down. "Big brother is a strong leader! I can't wait for you to control your evil army!"

He looked up at me as he sat on my lap. "Evil army? How and what is that?" Hearing this, he layed back onto my chest and a book appeared in his hands. "Read with me big bro!" He held it out enough for me to see.

"Okay.." He flipped through some pages and stopped on the page dead in the middle of the book. I then started reading:

There was a man named, Noah. He was able to split heaven and earth alike with his army of undead and strength alone. His undead army toppled city's, mountains, and continents alike. One day though, his undead army went missing with Noah as well. Since then, no being has found his resting place, and where his undead army truly layes..

"I see.." So I have to find this army of his and make them my own? Sounds like a hassle. If I do find them, I'll probably just use them as defense for my Kingdom. "Tell me Larius, do you know where they are?"

Surely he does.

"I do, but I'm not going to tell you where. It'll ruin the adventure!"

I nodded at the boy, as I rubbed his hair. He smiled at that and the door opened. "The knights say they enjoy you as a captain." Reina sat down, taking her helmet off in the process.

"They always call me mean, but I dont see it.." After she said that, I thought back to a couple of days ago. She was slaving them around, doing things like, cleaning the castle, or doing work like being butlers. They basically did everything, but Knightley jobs.

"Your good looking. They probably thought they would get some." I layed back slightly. "Get.. some? What does that mean?" Reina was an 18 year old knight. She graduated top of her class in Knight school and became the commander of the knight brigade by 15.

Her swordmans ship is unparalleled. Her build his that of pure muscle. Not an ouch of chub is on her. Saying all of this, she never really understood things like that. I'm pretty sure she didn't even know what she was doing with Reina who claims she liked someone.

She probably meant a sword or something. "Yeah, like go on a date. You know, romantic type stuff." She heard this and nodded with a serious expression. "I see then. Should I spit game back as well?"

What she said made me laugh slightly. "Do whatever you like." Good luck to the knight who has to handle that at night. She gonna brake your dick off probably. "Although, I never really understood relationships. They hold you back in my book."

She wasnt exactly wrong. I watched this one anime where this dude had this void power or something. Anyways, he never used it that much until his childhood friend died. It wasn't until then that he unlocked his full potential.

"Maybe you need a strong man who can help himself?" I questioned her. "Maybe, but that brings up the question of who.." We both then went into thought.

"How about Arthur. I heard he asked you out, but you denied him." I suggested, trying to look out for him.

"No. I really am not worthy of him. Besides, I think he likes someone else. He always says their name at night, but I can never make out who." She said something that surprised me.

'Who the hell is he in love with? And why hasn't he told me?' I felt a little sad. 'And I won't even be able to see him again for a while...' Arthur had to stay back because it was time for him to learn how to fully become a king.

"Enough about me. What about you sir? What is your take on romance?" She slightly sat up as she questioned me. "Hmm.." I thought about her question then answer. "I think its necessary for some people. Some need that support from their loved ones to live, but as for me, I don't really need it.."

I looked down slowly while frowning. "Is that because of the darkness magic? Does it make you fell uncertain?" I guess shes a mind reader because she's exactly right. Ever since I started developing my darkness element, my mind changed greatly.

I now understand that having loved ones burdens you, holding you back in the process as well. That's why...That's why I think there kind of worthless. They stop you from what you truly desire. They stop you from seeing your destiny. They...

"Yes. It...Gets to me, y'know?" She slowly nodded with her eyes closed. "I thought all users of the dark element would have no type of emotion. I'm glad I was wrong.." She sighed out with a smile.

'Its slowly becoming that way...'

I smiled too and looked over towards the small window, opposite side of the door.

'I'm..Slowly becoming that way..'
