CHAPTER 24

MARCUS POV

I walked down the stairs and moved to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee but found Cindy with her nightwear. She strode towards me and tried to smash her lips to mine but I stride back before she could, she had a frown boldly written on her face.

"What happened? Don't you want me any longer?" she asked with hurts written all over her face. "Not this morning Cindy,“ I let out-earning her a strode to hand me a coffee.

I took the coffee and went straight to my room without a single word. I know we had been in a sexual relationship before I went to Italy and I didn't want that to end but I wasn't just in the mood this morning. Before entering my room I stared at Jane's room.

I strode and fixed my hand in the doorknob but went against opening the door. I know she must be hurt by my action but she acted too dumb and I hated idiotic women, they acted too weak.

I unlocked the door of my room as I set the coffee down on the well-furnished center table. I took from the several towels and tread to the bathroom as I switched on the shower, after a delightful shower I hauled on my dress for the day.

The office had been a jumble because news had it that my manager Collins had been stealing from me. I can't wait to trash that nincompoop, why do I keep meeting an untrustworthy set of people! The words of my father instantly flashed through my brain.

"Humans are not to be trusted, they are an ungrateful set of people who only think of themselves." he was right after all. We had taken care of Noah ever since he was a small boy but he betrayed us and was going to set the girls from camp free and run away with the love of his life.

I drooped on my suit as I made my way to the office. The thing I hated the most was a soul-stealing from me, I maneuvered hard to get to my stance before my dad had assisted in towering me further with his money.

My Luxus la 400 packed in front of the Giant building. I sauntered inside my workplace to all the workers greeting me with a bow and a “sir” to convey their respect towards me. I entered my office to notice Cindy already in the office.

She was my Secretary. I walked towards the window with the second cup of coffee I was taking for the day. The road was busy as everybody kept walking fast to get to their various destinations. I stared at the side of the road to notice a group of beggars who sat down waiting for passersby to drop a few cents or more.

If they could be this human not to steal in their very bad condition why would Collins steal from me? I think there are many bad people in Chicago. The thought of Jane had flashed my mind, had she woken up yet? Had she eaten? Why do I even care?

There were so many young and beautiful girls all over the world that I could bond with and have a great family with but I had chosen to do this for Noah. To protect his woman from other Mafia, as a return for killing him.

The thought of her not being the type of girl I would want to end up with hurt because she wasn't as flawless as Cindy, her body wasn't as sexy or mesmerizing as Cindy.

I picked up my office phone and dialed Cindy's number. “Come to my office,” I ordered as she uttered the “yes sir” I dropped the phone to look at the document of reducing stocks. I was still scanning the document when a knock reached the door.

“Come in Cindy,” I uttered, still searching for the document. “Sir I'm sorry about this morning,” she apologized like the good girl I had fallen for, Cindy was a girl who never dared me like the other workers but she was the only one who understood me.

“It's fine, I guess I was only stressed!” I said standing up to stride to her side, I was inches away from her as I hauled her nearer to me before kissing her like my whole eternity depended on her lips.

After I pulled away I sat her down on the vacant chair before sitting down close to her on the desk. “Cindy you are the only one who I trust in the office, why would collins steal from me when I put you in care?” I screamed in outrage.

She stared at me with fear. “You can talk now Cindy, I want to hear from you directly.” I yelled furthermore. “I don't fucking no Marcus,” she said standing up from her chair.

“Get Collins right now,” I let out roaming my hand roughly in my hair. “He hasn't come to the office yet, ” she said with grief. I didn't like it when I shouted at her, it was unwilling, that's just the way my father had brought me up! He had said being soft made people step on you like trash.

I sat back on the seat as Cindy stood staring at me with fear showing in her eyes. “I would get to you when Collins shows up,” she said as I took up my hand to shush her away, she bowed before leaving.

Few minutes later Cindy had called to say Collins was in the building. I was frustrated and needed something to cool off and I think he was going to be a punching bag for releasing my frustration. I had walked into the hidden and jettisoned room where I dealt with untrustworthy people.

I had made sure he was tied and stripped well, he looked half dead and tired with blood on his side lips. I guess he had been tortured the way I wanted but I still felt he needed more! I wasn't satisfied.

I dragged a chair in front of him as I pulled out my Gun. I lifted his face up so he could stare at me well, his eyes lit up and I was mad at myself for doing this because he was my most trusted employee.

“Did you really steal from me?” I asked, wishing he would say no.
