Chapter 7

Zander's pov:

I was really happy that Maddie's sister was finally on my side and what cut me off guard was what she told me in her school which I won't tell you guys haha

After getting the ice cream we went to the park to have a little walk and I got to know Maddie really well

She likes Disney and her favourite colours are pink and blue and so on

Maddie ran off to play giving Alice and I a chance to talk

We spoke about anything and everything and we really had fun

Unfortunately it was time to get going and so we made our way towards the car

"Princess you are still up for the movie right tomorrow night "

"Yea I haven't forgotten am still up for it"

The ride back home was filled with silence between us the only thing that was playing was the radio

She dropped me at home and as usual it's as quite and lonely as always

Everyone thinks am so lucky cause my parents are rich but the don't know that the are never at home

The never have time for me the don't really care about me which always makes me unhappy

I went straight to my room and to my bed

I was on my bed thinking about Alice and she was the only thing that has made me happy so far

She was like a drug which am addicted to and I would stop at nothing to have her as mine

So I set my mission to get my princess to fall in love with me cause I think I have already fallen in love with her which sounds strange cause we have only spoken for 4 days and am already messed up

I went to sleep with my mission and Alice on my mind

Alice pov:

When I got home I saw that Jay's car was in the driveway which was surprising cause he doesn't get home till 3:30 and it was only 3:00

We made our way into the house and we saw jay pacing up and down

"Hey Jay"He snapped his head towards me at the speed of light and ran towards me hugging me and checking for any scratches

He did same to Maddie which made me look at him in shock and I began to question

"Jay what's going on"

"Kiddo nothing serious now that you are ok"

"I'm ok why wouldn't I be"he sighed which made me raise an eyebrow at him but I did not question him anymore

I turned to Maddie"hey beautiful go to your room"she ran up to her room

"Uhm jay I have something to tell you"

He raised his eyebrow which indicated that I should continue

"When I was in class today I kind of felt weird so I looked out the window and I saw someone there in a hoodie staring at me I did not really see him cause he had a mask on and immediately he saw me looking at him he walked away"

I saw jay tense at the end of my sentence and I was beginning to panick

"Jay what's wrong you need to tell me you have been acting strange since we got home what's the problem"

"Alice there's something you need to know that I have been hiding from you for a long time which am very sorry for not telling you I thought I was protecting you but I don't think I can keep it any longer and you really need to know"

It was my turn to tense cause now it was really a problem

He looked at me with teary eyes"I know who killed our parents"immediately he said that I looked at him with disbelief in my eyes and disappointment

"Before you get mad hear me out...the person that killed them was none other than Mr Charles cause he was drunk and he hit mum and dad....when the police and I got there it was only his car that was there we did not really see him there....I decided to follow the case up cause it broke you guys and you were always blaming yourself for their death which wasn't your fault I wanted to prove to you that it wasn't your fault"by now tears were flowing down our eyes like a river

"So we found out that he was the one that hit our parents I decided to press charges and he came into my office one day and told me that since I want to press charges and ruin his reputation he would get me back in the harshest way possible and I was really mad at that and from that day forward I always made sure you guys had a bodyguard around without you noticing so this morning I received a letter with your pictures from school and that of Maddie so I rushed down here to see if you were at home and you weren't I was so mad at myself cause I thought.....I thought he got you guys because I wanted to get justice for mum and dad....but I found out you were ok...I don't know what to do Ali....I don't want anything to happen to you guys .....you are all I have left... you are all I have left"

At the end of his rant I hugged him tight allowing him cried on my shoulders and I couldn't believe my ears it was all too much to handle

After he was done crying and I was also done processing what I just heard from him I looked at him and saw that he was very lost and hopeless which broke me

"Jay nothing would happen to us I grantee that I'll keep Maddie safe you know I took self defense...mum and dad needed justice the took away our happiness and you did the right thing"I said meaning every word

He smiled at me"you know sometimes I wonder if you are the older one cause you always know what to say"we laughed and he kissed my forehead which is what he usually does

"I love you so much kiddo"

"I love you too jay"we pulled away and he went to his room and I made my way towards Maddie's room to see she was fast asleep which surprised me

I went to my room and thought of what jay told me

My day dream was interrupted by a knock on the front door and I heard footsteps going towards the door which meant Jay went to answer it

I heard voices so I went down to check who it was and to my surprise it was Zander which made me smile

Jay looked up at me with a questionable look and I gave him one that says I'll explain later

"Uhm jay meet Zander my friend and Zander meet Jay my brother"the did their bro handshake and jay excused himself not wanting to interrupt

"Uhm I'm not meaning to be rude but what are you doing here"

He looked at me nervously "I was kind of bored and I decided to visit you cause you once told me you lived seven blocks away"I smiled that he remembered

"And damn girl I never knew you were this rich...you don't really look like it no offense but it's true you don't brag about it which is surprising"

"Yea I know few people know who my parents are and I want to keep it that way I don't really like fake friends"

I looked up the stairs to see Maddie looking at me and immediately she saw Zander she ran to him

"Zander!!!!!"she literally jumped on him

"Hey baby what's going on"

"I'm good...let's go play"I interrupted her and said"no Maddie it's time for your homework after homework you play"

She tried giving me her puppy dog face which almost made me fall but I stood my ground and she pouted and made her way towards the living room to do her homework

"Hey so do you want to hang out here or you want to hang out in my room"

He smirked"so you really want me in your bed huh"which earned him a smacked on his arm

"Ouch woman you are too violent"I rolled my eyes are him for being very dramatic

I made my way towards my room with Zander following me

When we got there he looked around the room and sat on my bed without my permission which made me gaze at him but he acted like he did not notice

"I'll be right back I need to use my bathroom"

I picked out my clothes which was my leggings and sweatshirt which was good considering the weather as I about entering the bathroom when I stopped and turned to him"DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING"which made him smirk at me

After I was done showering and dressing up I made my way into my room to see Zander standing beside my drawer which made my face turn red

He turned when he noticed I was there"I never knew red was your favorite color princess"he smiled

I turned a deeper shade of red"I told you to not touch anything"

"I did not go through your pantie drawer jezz so chill"

He continued looking around and then he stopped at the picture frame of both my parents and he studied their features closely before saying

"You look exactly like your mum besides your hair"immediately I tensed

"Yea I guess"

"Where are they?you never talk about them"he looked at me searching for answers and my eyes widened but I relaxed and I decided to tell him

I don't know what took over me but I felt it would be nice if I told him

"I think we need to sit for this"I sat on my bed and made space for him to sit

"Ok...my parents are in a good place...the died in a car accident which was all my fault and not my fault.... but was my fault that I told them to go back for something so stupid"I didn't want to cry anymore but a tear slipped and fell on my palm

"I told them I needed my favorite snack when the were on their way home from their date...the told me the were almost home that I could get that the next day but I insisted and the went back few minutes later we got a phone call from the hospital saying our parents had an accident which jay ran to before coming to get us"

I felt him wrap his arms around me and I felt warm I felt happy and I cried on his shoulders

It felt like a big burden has been lifted off my shoulders which I was happy for and my eyes started giving up on me and darkness consumed me
