Azkaban 1

Once his parents fell asleep, Matthew placed a notice-me-not charm on his door and opened a portal into a deserted back alley in the middle of London. He left the alley and headed directly for the next Street close by. At the Street, he took his wand out and raised it slightly.

After a few moments with a loud plop, that apparently nobody noticed besides he himself since there were no lights in the Windows turning on or People complaining, a purple AEC Regent III RT with three floors appeared on the empty street and stopped in front of him. The door opened and an eighteen or nineteen-year-old man, with large, protruding ears and quite a few pimples in a Purple Uniform stepped out.

"Welcome to the Knight Bus, emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard. Just stick out your wand hand, step on board, and we can take you anywhere you want to go. My name is Stan Shunpike, and I will be your conductor this evening. Where do you want to go?" he began while looking at Matthew.

"I need a ticket to Scarborough. Visiting my Grandparents there, who recently moved to the coast." Explained Matthew with a smile while beginning some small talk with the talkative Stan as he stepped into the purple Bus.

There were no seats; instead, half a dozen brass bedsteads stood beside the curtained windows. Candles were burning in brackets beside each bed, illuminating the wood-paneled walls. And a few Wizards and Witches clearly drunk were sleeping in them.

"That will be sixteen Sickles until Scarborough for three more you will get a hot chocolate." Said Stan.

"I only need the ride." Replied Matthew as he handed the money over.

"Thank you. Take a seat we start in a few seconds." Warned Stan as he leaned against a window.

And how they started.

'Fuck! What is wrong with Wizards? Never again will I use that ride from hell.' Cursed Matthew as he rested against a wall at his destination. 'I really need to learn Apparition. At least I can now create a Portkey if I ever need to travel to the coast, although there isn't much in this city.'

What was he even doing here? Scarborough was one of the Cities directly at the coast of the North Sea, and one of the Cities closest to the Wizarding prison Azkaban. According to Fudge the Island is somewhere located in the middle of the North Sea, somewhere south of Hogwarts. In the Books, Sirius said he turned into his Dog Form and swam to the Mainland, so Azkaban should be somewhere close to the coast hidden with Wards from the non-magical Population.

But that was just the Information from Canon, Matthew was able to pinpoint the exact location of the Island with the help of Sarah by analyzing the historical records and logs he found in the Hogwarts Library about the first expedition from the Ministry once the Island appeared in the North Sea. He also used the local legends of the non-magical world as further information, since for a while during the middle ages very dark legends were told about this particular patch of sea. Not only did found Matthew the location of the island he could also pretty accurately reconstruct what happened back then although some of it was only his theory of which he may found proof today.

Before Azkaban became a Prison for the Criminals in Magical Britain, it was the base of an Ancient Dark Wizard going by the name Ekrizdis. He was one of the darkest Wizards in the history of Magical Britain, he may even surpass Voldemort or Grindelwald. Ekrizdis practiced the darkest kinds of magics known to Wizardkind and studied the darkness so deeply like very few Wizards, he is also known as the Creator of Dementors. Matthew was sure that he was originally immortal or at least a way to extend his life, and only died because of a spell gone wrong or his extended Lifespan run out. He knew that since the legends in the non-magical world about that particular patch of the North Sea about disappearing Sailors spanned over centuries. And Ekzidris was the builder of the Fortress of Azkaban, before his arrival it was just an empty island.

The Ministry grew aware of the location of the dark island after the Concealment Wards disappeared through Ekrizdis's death. The Ministry of Magic sent an expedition to the island, which returned so shocked and disturbed by the horrors they found in the fortress that they only would share very few details about the Island. The Ministry left the Fortress that reeked of dark magic unused for years since they didn't dare to destroy the fortress who is the home of the dementors to not provoke these dark and immortal or amortal creatures. They even feared that the Fortress itself would defend itself and exact revenge on them since it was so full of dark magic that it may have developed its own consciousness similar to Hogwarts just dark. Later they restored the Fortress and began to use it as the Prison it was known for today.

Because of Ekrizdis was the creators of Dementors Matthew was interested in him, Dementors were not native to earth they originated from another different Dimension, which name he didn't know of only that it was full of dark creatures and powers. He knew that information from the Scroll of Chaos he found beforehand in the Black Castle Ruins. The knowledge of how to Summon Dementors was inside that Scroll, Raczidian the master of the Black Castle, and Summone of Dementors lived centuries before the legends of Ekrizdis began. Since the Scroll was still inside the Ruins and there were multiple of them, Ekrizdis may have possessed another one, although there was a slight chance he found the Scroll before Matthew and returned it to the Ruins. But Matthew's hunch told him it was another Scroll. And inside the records of the Ministry Ekrizdis created not summoned the Dementors. The Creation of Dementors wasn't recorded in the Scroll he read before.

Matthew arrived at the Coast, the sea was rough tonight and colored in darkness, with a slight mist overt it, only the moon illuminated the wild water and was reflected by it. It would be impossible for him to swim there. He tried to locate the island where Azkaban was on with his eyes, but it seems like the ministry not only concealed it from the non-magical but from everyone.

'Concealment Charms are annoying but if you know the location they are easy to see through if you know-how. Sarah, please mark the location in my Vision where the Island should be.' He requested mentally as he observed the sea.

In his vision, a circle appeared marking the spot where the island should be. 'Concealment Charms can have a lot of weaknesses since Wizards don't have much knowledge about nature. They mostly only hide from their eyes by distorting the light. But I already created in my first year a spell that can see through most concealment wards or charms. My echolocation spell uses sound it only needs a slight modification and I will be able to perceive what is behind the Concealment.' He thought.

After casting his modified Echolocation spell he was able to perceive the cliffs and large walls of the Fortress. Even though the Spell the place gave him a dark feeling, he couldn't imagine what it must have been centuries ago when Ekrizdis lived there. Once Matthew located an advantageous position among the Cliffs that he could stand on he began to take out his Trunk and prepare himself for his upcoming expedition.
