Fox got up and started swinging his arm around and opening and closing his hand repeatedly. There were tears coming down his face at the joy of being able to use his arm. "Thank you, young man. This, this is more than I could ever have hoped for. Now all I need is to go the cave and find the equipment that I lost."
"Master Fox I only found this single bow in the bear's den." Vindictus pulled out the bow that he had found. He knew this was not what the old ranger wanted but he had to pretend.
"I only use a bow when I have to young man. I am actually missing a short sword, like a guardian would use and a dagger like the rogues would use. They are a matching set."
Vindictus pulled out the dagger and sword that he was wondering about earlier. He always assumed that the ranger that got two weapons fighting managed to break up a set and get at least part of the benefit of using set weapons but now he realized that he was wrong. The old man reached for the weapons and Vindictus handed them over without any hesitation. As soon as they hit Fox's hands both of the weapons started glowing gold. That meant that these were legendary weapons. Something that Vindictus had never touched in his previous ten-year experience. Even if they were not his he got to touch them.
"Thank you, young man." Fox immediately jumped to his feet and started slashing the weapons so fast that Vindictus could not keep up with them. Then to his amazement the man tossed the weapons up in the air and switched hands with them when he snatched them out of the air. "So as a reward how about I share with you the knowledge of my abilities and I will even provide you with a starter set of weapons like this one."
Vindictus bowed deeply to the old ranger. "I would be honored if you would share your knowledge with me."
Fox laughed at him. "You can try that humble act with me all you want but I know that deep down you are more excited than you should be able to put into words."
"You are correct on that fact Master Fox." It was true, even in the game his hands were shaking in excitement.
The man pulled out five books and Vindictus' eyes almost bulged out of his head. "I am a very hands-off type of teacher. And honestly hate having people near me most of the time. But once you learn these five skills that I have personally developed you will be what is considered a dual-weapon ranger. That is the name that the ranger's association gave to the job."
"Thank you very much Master. I will start learning them right away."
"Oh, before you go take these with you." He pulled out a dagger and sword set that matched his own but they were dark green in color unlike his gold ones. "Once you learn the books those will become your best friends. When you get strong enough come back and I will teach you a few of the harder skills of our job. And I also have a few formulas that you will have to hire a smith to build for you later. Because the chances of you finding a weapon set for you is almost impossible. Although I have lost a few out there. Well good luck and go away."
"I will visit only when I have to master but I am always at your call if there is something that you do not want to deal with." The old Fox laughed and Vindictus smiled a little as well. They both knew that with his abilities there was probably nothing in this world he could not handle but things he just did not want to deal with would be passed to his disciple. The mere idea that the bear hurt him was laughable but it was part of the story.
Vindictus left the area back towards the town on the same path that he used to get in since he knew where the traps were. He thought about it and picked the spot that he fought the others before and picked that as a place to learn the books. Like most games, skills could be learnt almost automatically but the higher-level ones took a few minutes. But Vindictus did not care. He sat on the ground and pulled out the first book.

These were some crazy skills. He never thought about being able to do so many things with this type of character. He could attack with both weapons as well as using one for defense and one for offense. This was going to take a little bit to get used to. Once he was set on that he equipped the new set of weapons that Fox had given him. As soon as the weapons were equipped, he got a notification.
[Congratulations on being the first player in the game to find a hidden class. Do you want to announce it to the world?
Yes/No]
Vindictus clicked no and wondered if he should take a day or two off so that some other people could get some world notifications.
[Congratulations to player ***** for being the first player to learn a legendary hidden class. For this they will be awarded +100 gold, +5000 reputation in the region, +1000 world reputation as well as three extra skill points.] Like before he realized that these first-time things were making him rich in the game and out of it for that matter. With the gold he had in the game he could start a workshop once he sold part of it. But he had other plans. For now, he needed to learn how to use his new abilities as well as leveling up his companion.

Vindictus called the cub out and started towards the town. He was not positive about the rules regarding animal companions but he would not know unless he tried. The guards at the gate looked him over and saw that a contract was in place and did not stop them from entering. He headed straight to see the mayor. He was let in with no issues. It was like no one even noticed the bear.
"Good afternoon Mr. Mayor. I have worked with old Fox and the situation has been dealt with and I do not see more issues coming up that he cannot take care of if he wants to take care of them."
"I see that you are wearing his old weapons but not his latest weapons. Why is that?"
"He took me on as his disciple and why would he give me the weapons that he is currently using."
"Currently? You need to be clearer with your words."
"We figured out a way to fix his arm. His arm to back to the way that it was before and he is good to go."
"I am probably going to regret asking this but how?"
"Well, I had a potion of regeneration and asked about it and he figured why not. So, at his request I cut his old arm off at the shoulder and then fed him the regen potion and another potion that he gave me to knock him out. And once his arm grew back to its original shape, I gave him another potion and woke him up. And here we are."
"You are insane, both of you are insane, but I guess it worked so there is that. Thank you for helping this village and helping my friend. Here take this." The mayor handed him a badge. "That is a nobility badge. And a high level one at that. I am only allowed to give out one, at that level, every five years. With the contributions to this region as well as this village I can't think of anyone else that should get it. It will give you a fast pass into the capitol city of New Haven when you can go there. It will also save you a lot of funds since normally even with the reputation you have to buy the badge. This also means that you can buy land in the city as soon as you get there if you have the funds. Also take it to see the head steward in New Haven and you can take jobs directly from him."
"Thank you. Mr. Mayor I will live up to the standards that a noble should entail." He gave the mayor a bow and then headed out to start leveling up his bear. As he headed out of town, he added in his skill points and level ten stat points to his character. Now that he had the skills there was no more point in waiting.
