"Sir we have an unknown carriage at the gate. They request access to enter. The group consists of about 10 men. 1 merchant and 9 guards."
Vern Fullshout had been captain of the guard for several years now. He had seen many groups come in and out of town. Like many days before the guard at the north entrance to Crazus Town came in to report a new group seeking to enter the town.
"You know the drill just have them identify themselves and search their carriage. If all is fine you can let them in."
"Sir they have several dead corpses with them. We have checked and they are Cleavers boys."
"What?!" Vern was shocked by this news. The newcomers came to the village and brought with them, dead bandits.
"I will go personally to check these people out. Inform the mayor of the situation.
"Yes sir!"
Vern walked out to the north entrance to see a couple of guards watching the strangers.
He saw several bodies on the ground. They really had brought dead bandits with them.
"Hello, strangers. I am Vern Fullshout, Captain of the guard. May I know who is in charge of your group?"
The group turned towards Very and one said to him "I am Jag the leader of the guards. I have been here before Captain and hope that once again you will let me into Crazus town. Also, I have brought these bodies who were formally bandits. They claimed to be a part of a nearby gang and the head of our group wanted to let you know of the event."
"I seem to remember you Jag. It is good to see you. You may defiantly come in but may I request you meet with the mayor later tonight to go over the event? Any news about the bandit's activities is very useful to us."
"That is fine Captain. We will stay at a nearby inn and set up our wares tomorrow. Tonight we will come to meet the mayor. Is that all Captain?"
"Yes, it is thank you. See you tonight."
Vern watched as the group went further into town. Hopefully, they would have some useful information about the Cleaver gang. The gang had been causing too much trouble for Vern and Crazus town.
"This is a very lovely town Jag," said Kane as they headed down the main road. People watched as the strange group was passing. Some looked intrigued while some looked suspicious.
"It is your highness. It is good we set up the meeting with the mayor. You were right to bring the corpses. This will help us gain favor with him and the town. I also like your suggestion of dealing with the bandits for them."
"We must do what it takes to help these people. After all, I hope soon they will be my people," said Kane.
"The inn is to our right sir," said Jag.
"Ok, I want you to book us some rooms and find someone to take care of our horses."
"It will be done, sir. Alag! Gree! Go book a room and stables."
"Yes sir!" "As you command!"
The inn was fast and the innkeeper was very kind and accommodating. He was an older gentleman who made sure they were all nice and comfortable. Kane got his own room while his men shared several others.
"Looks like I must dress up for tonight," said Kane before taking some nice clothes out of his inventory.
