Chapter 120

Sorry for the late chapters, I was very busy last week. I promise for the time being a week will be the longest breaks I may have. I'll do my best to keep it under a week but at most a week. Last week I had a lot of work to do for an art show that I was in but that kind of busy week shouldn't happen all the time. This week my schedule is much more free and I promise that I will release at least three chapters as an apology.

The chapter starts here:

"My lord, what do you want me to do with this?" asked Fukyo who had arrived inside their tent a few minutes ago. He was about to report that he was able to get a message outside the camp when Kane forced a strange scroll into his hands.

"Tear it up and you will be pleasantly surprised," responded Kane with a grin that was trying to hide but still escaped enough for Fukyo to notice and feel slight nervousness.

"As you say, Sir."

Fukyo griped the scroll and tore it with one pull. Bright light flooded the tent and Fukyo felt a searing warmth swim up and down his body. He felt tired yet energetic, fearful yet confident, pain yet pleasure.

"What's happening?"

The words barely left General Fukyo's mouth before he fell to his knees.

"Arghh!"

Fukyo started to glow and Kane felt the battle energy form. He was elevated to feel how powerful it was. Fukyo had awakened as a B-rank battle master. Perfect for the spear battle art he was going to use. Seems the scroll gives enough power for whatever art the user uses or more in Fukyo's case.

"I feel...battle energy? What was that scroll? It's as if something has awakened inside me!"

"Congratulations General, you have officially learned the Seaton Spear battle art and have become a battle master."

"WHAT!? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!"

Fukyo looked as if he was about to pass out and Kane wasn't sure if it was the sudden power that took over his body or the realization of Kane's words.

"An ancient artifact that I had on hand. You will need all your strength if we are to come out of this alive and well."

Fukyo looked as if he had a million questions trying their best to break out of his lips but instead, only two words came out.

"Thank you."

"You are welcome, General. It will all be worth it if we can win this battle. Is everything ready?"

Fukyo seemed as if he wanted to say something besides the answer Kane sought but understood the importance that his new king placed on him being prepared.

"Tonight we strike Your Highness. I know you must have faith in me by giving me this gift and I promise to not let you down."

"Good get some rest. This will be the most difficult battle to date. At least for me and the entirety of the Iron Rose Kingdom's history."

"Yes Sir!"

Inside the same camp but in a different tent:

General Kakasi stood overlooking a wide piece of parchment that was slightly escue due to a large platter of food that shared the same table. It was the map of the camp, battlefield, and surrounding forest.

The General turned to his overweight compatriot who sat in the corner munching on a bowl of something green and golden, with a rosemary aroma.

"Lord Fullbuster, you may have reported no activity and I am sure your confidence in your defenses is well warranted but as I said before, his Highness thought it would be better if my men and I joined you for this fight. The information we have has ensured me that my new and improved knights will decimate the White Sparrow's forces. And also apparently the men you have gathered are in poor shape. I assure you can have all the glory but I will kill General Kanto."

"Uuuh whatever whatever! You really are just trying to butt in and add to your list. You probably found some way to convince his highness that I needed help. But whatever give me the glory and take away the work it all works for me either way."

Lord Fullbuster was referring to the number of battle masters that General Kakashi killed. And he was not wrong. Although the King has ordered it due to the information that they have received he really did want to test out the strength of the famous General Kanto. And he couldn't wait to see the light behind the General's eyes disappear. His flame grew hungrier each second he thought of killing the White Sparrow General.

"Well Lord Fullbuster I will lead the first assault. Feel free to stay behind and stuff your face some more."

"Yeah, yeah, just leave some alive. I need a few more slaves."

"As you wish," said General Kakshi as he walked outside the tent.

"THE WHITE SPARROW KINGDOM IS MOVING OUT! PREPARE TO ENGAGE!"

As the General got closer to the entrance of the camp, one of the guards on the tower yelled out.

"Hmm seems it's time," said Kakasi with a determined look on his face. His knights seemed to prepare out of nowhere and got into battle positions. Lord Fullbuster's soldiers were more sloppy but still gathered. The army started marching outside the camps wall and prepared to meet with the enemy. General Kakasi could not hide the sadistic smile that appeared when thinking about how his fire would feast on the filth of the White Sparrow Kingdom in just a matter of minutes.
