Screams of anguish filled the air, limbs littered the ground, and two ferocious snakes made of pure fire and battle energy glided in and out of the battle, feasting on any soldier unlucky enough to be in their path.
"See his power really grows each time he kills someone with those snakes," said Fukyo who was standing next to Kane on the makeshift wall overlooking the battle. Both men had led the charge to dispatch the few guards left guarding the camp and now prepared to start their main attack.
"They are growing at a tremendous rate. You were right he far surpasses Boitata. We need to hurry before he kills more. I want you to lead everyone here into battle. My other men will see you and join you from their position in the woods. I'll handle Lord Fullbuster."
"Are you sure my lord? He could kill you! At least take some men with you."
"It is alright, I have men on their way here. Plus I have others ready to join both our perspective battles if need be."
"As you say, Sir. I wish you luck. I will try my best to defeat the Kokarian forces. I fear we may not be enough to defeat General Kakaski though."
"It is alright, just try and team up with whatever General the White Sparrow Kingdom sent. And cover your face with a helmet. I would rather they not learn about your current alliance and sudden battle energy."
"I understand. With me men! TIME TO SEEK JUSTICE FOR OUR LOVED ONE!"
General Fukyo rallied his men as well as Kane's and charged toward the battlefield. Their faces full of conviction, the soldiers charged right into the back of the Kokarian forces, surprising and decimating the outer layer. Kane watched as Fukyo and his warriors joined the blur of battle and as their bodies faded into the sea of death and pain, Kane turned toward the group of six who had just walked through the main gate.
"Akak it is good to see you. Are you ready?" asked Kane.
"Yes, I have prepared everything. I also heard the good news from one of Skags assassins that four tents full of Kokarian soldiers did not show up for battle?"
"Indeed, his ratfolk did splendidly. They also helped me dispatch the guards here and sabotage any possible escape for Fullbuster. It should only be him and two guards who are still alive in this camp to fight."
"Good, seems like any trouble we thought we'd get didn't occur. Great planning sir. I do fear this coming battle though. I brought with me six more ratfolk. I know soldiers would get in the way but maybe these assassins could spring a few attacks on this battle master."
"Good idea. Let's just hope the poison is working."
Both men walked stoically toward the big tent in the back of the camp. No movement or noise came out of it, even when Kane and his men had killed all the soldiers left in the camp.
"Well, should we go in or lure him out?" asked Akak as the ratfolk disappeared into the shadows.
"It would be easier to start the battle here. I'm sure it would end up hear anyways."
"Alright let me handle this. LORD FULLBUSTER YOU BRAINLESS PIECE OF LARD! SURREND NOW TO THE IRON ROSE KINGDOM AND YOU WILL BE SPARED! THE SANDS HAVE FATE HAVE LED YOU TO THIS MOMENT! MY KING WILL GIVE MERCY IF YOU BEHAVE BUT IF YOU CHOOSE TO FIGHT THA...!"
As Kane stifled a chuckle at Akak's unusually loud speech two guards came running out, weapons in hand, a thirst for blood in their eyes.
"You are usually more reserved than that Akak. I must say having a kingdom behind you has changed your personality a little bit," said Kane and Akak both cutting down the guards respectively.
"Just trying to make life easier for you my king. The sooner we kill these scum the sooner we can set our sights on the Emerald Dessert."
"Haha, I see you know your priorities."
As the two spoke a freakishly large and imposing figure came waddling out of the tent.
"BY THE GODS WHO ARE YOU! WH...WHY DO YOU COME HERE! YOU WISH T...TO DIE!?"
A slightly green Lord Fullbuster came out with bags under his eyes and battle energy pulsing all around him.
"Seem's the poison is working," whispered Akak.
"Lord Fullbuster, I am King Kane of the Iron Rose Kingdom. It would please me if you would surrender. If not then know today is the day you join the ranks of battle masters from the Kingdom of Kokar that I have sent to your gods."
"HAHA you...WILL DIE!"
Kane's senses yelled at him, emitting fear throughout his brain. For such a huge man, Fullbuster blasted off the ground with incredible speed and charged toward Kane. Both Akak and Kane barely dodged the attack.
"The fat man can run," said Akak through loud breathing.
"Let's show him what we're capable of. The poison may not have slowed him down but should hopefully make him less durable."
Kane faded quickly out of existence before appearing right where Fullbuster had ended up. He pulled out two daggers and stabbed at Fullbuster's chest.
"ARGHHH!"
Fullbuster groaned in pain before using his large arms to swat Kane into a defensive position.
Before either man could take a breather, Akak came out of nowhere. His battle energy showing for the first time since Kane had met him. Akak held two blades made out of sand and as if he was a whirlwind, Akak launched a flurry of attacks against Fullbuster. Kane watched, amazed at Akak's battle art. He had been wanting to see it for ages. It looks like Akak became a sandstorm as his weapons went passed the general's armor and nipped the skin leaving many wounds. And when Fullbuster tried to attack Akak, the man seemingly became sand and avoided getting hit. Well until Fullbuster somehow embued his fist with battle energy and sent the man flying into a tent.
"AH!"
Fullbusters attack though left his armpit unguarded. Kane pulled out his lance from his inventory, embued it with battle energy, and used the Seaton Spear arts to launch it into the crack between the armor and into the flesh. The ratfolk assassins also took the chance to launch an attack on the General, slicing different openings with their poisoned knives before disappearing again.
"Y...yoU THINK YOU Can KILLL ME!!"
Struggling to breathe, Fullbuster's anger and pain were evident. His skin was red, skin torn apart, and tears in his eyes, the poison clearly stopped his battle art from healing him. His stamina also seemed nonexistent.
Before Kane could celebrate how supriseingly easy this fight with, Fullbuster's skin started to boil and bubble, his battle energy went wild crashing into Kane, and a blood-chilling scream escaped the general's voice.
"Shit is this his second battle art!" hissed Kane.
"HAHAHAHAHA INDEED!!!! YOU THINK JUST BECAUSE YOU POISONED ME YOU COULD KILL ME! LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO THE BELLY OF THE BEHEAMOUTH! THIS BATTLE ART WILL DESTROY YOU AND YOUR PUNY KINGDOM! YOU NEVER HAD A CHANCE EVEN IF I CAN'T USE GOURMAND'S RESILIENCE ANYMORE!"
Kane hoped they could defeat the general before he used this unknown battle art. It seems like it was a last resort sort of thing and Kane was horrified to see what Fullbuster was becoming. The battle energy was molding him into some kind of horrendous monster. This new gluttonous form grew in size and looked like pure fat with a large mouth on his belly covered by hundreds of sharp teeth. Horns also appeared on the general's head. This belly of the behemoth battle art seemed to turn the man into an even scarier version of a cave troll.
"Wh...what in the Emerald Oasis is that!?" said Akak who had finally gotten up and returned to the battle.
Before Kane could do anything to try and stop this new form, the ratfolk assassins came dashing out to try and mame the monster but were quickly massacred. Kane saw one be crushed before Fullbuster picked one up and fed it to the carnivorous mouth that had grown on his body. It ablitered the poor ratfolks body into shreds while seemingly healing any wound Fullbuster had from the previous fight.
"FUCK! He can heal with this battle art!" Kane clenched his fist. The poison stopped the first battle art but now seemingly wasn't doing much against this new form. Kane was sweating. This didn't look good. Akak had a similar worried expression on his face. Both men prepared to escape if need be. Both not confident in clashing with this man turned monster.
