Etienne gave him a slight smile. “I knew that would be your reaction. I didn’t tell him. He had called Dr. Ballard before he spoke to me. I couldn’t lie to him after he talked to the doctor.”


“No, you wouldn’t lie anyway. Sometimes integrity is not a good thing.” Julio sighed. “Now Donal will be running over here as soon as he gets off the plane. I can’t believe I didn’t ask this before, but what is your address?”


“It’s 39 East 72ndStreet. We’re eight blocks from Donal on 64th.”


“Ian is in Brooklyn. Colin is in Gramercy Park. Sean is on Washington Square, and Kane is in Soho. Did I remember correctly?”


“Yes. You’ll be at all of their houses for lunch once you recover. Donal won’t come over until tomorrow. It’s after ten. Why don’t you finish your book tomorrow?”


Etienne leaned over and kissed him on the forehead. “Good night, mon coeur.”
