“Julio, answer the door, it’s Ian.”

He got off the bed, wiped his eyes with one of his new white handkerchiefs, and unlocked the door. “What’s up?” Julio tried to keep his voice bright.

“Cut the act. I can see the red rims around your bloodshot eyes and the tear tracks down your cheeks. I can guarantee that neither Rémy nor Armand will let Charron take you.” Ian herded Julio over to the sitting area. They sat down on the blue sofa.
