Gabriel left the bathroom to walk down the stairs with Agnes. “Murphy is still insisting on his full title?”


“Now Mr. Martin, Detective Sergeant Murphy worked hard for that title and is proud of his promotion.”


“You’re right, Agnes. I shouldn’t make jokes. He has a right to be proud. He’s a young wolf with maturity beyond his fifty years. Everything is new to him.”


“Just as new as computers were to you when you went back to school this time around. Now you’re the Chief Information and Technology Office for Garou. Your mama and daddy are proud of what you accomplished, more so than of the job you were fated to do since birth.”
