Gabriel led him over to a chair, pulled it out, and placed his tube on the seat. It was the dining room. He could see the chairs and table as he got closer. He opened his eyes a little wider. The others were waiting for him and Gabriel at the table. Kane made out the place settings and Mr. La Marche at the head of the table. The growly looking Rémy sat at the other end with Marc and Colin on one side the empty chairs for his host and him were opposite Marc and Colin. They sat.
He heard Agnes come into the room. “I made chicken and dumplings. I tried to make something that Kane would find easier to eat.”
“You did well Agnes. If it becomes necessary, Sean can change places with Gabriel and help him eat. He needs to eat to build up his strength to heal.” Armand waved his arm, and Agnes began to serve.
“I don’t want to be a burden, I…”
“Shush, you’re not a burden. You’re a brave man who was sorely tried,” Sean said in a firm voice.
