“Was it tough growing up gay in Indiana?” Colin asked changing the subject
“There aren’t too many people who admit to being gay in rural Indiana, but my father convinced me to come out before he died. After Dad had died, I was pretty lonely. I spent many a weekend with gay young adult novels, gay science fiction and finally, gay romance. I love your stuff. Your backstory is fantastic. I used to wish…well, I was just a kid then.”
“What did you wish?” Ian asked pushing the envelope a bit.
“You’re going to think I’m silly.” Kane’s tried to smile.
“No, we won’t think you’re silly. We know we’re silly and spoiled, you, not at all.”
“I used to wish shifters were real.” Kane rushed it out in one breath so maybe they wouldn’t ask more about his foolish dreams.
“What if they were real and living among us, hidden from human eyes?” Sean proposed.
