Alpha Marc Thierry was used to the North Woods of Minnesota, so his elevation to third on the loup garou council necessitated a move to a Gramacy section of New York City. On Monday nights, his housekeeper is off and Marc doesn’t like casseroles. He orders Chinese and gets a musical voice on the line that calls to him. To his delight and surprise, the guy on the phone delivers his food and is his destined mate. “Let it out. It does no good to keep it all locked up inside. Colin will be fine. We’ll get Lorraine. Every Beta, Enforcer and loup garou cop in the city is searching for her. I know how I felt when I came close to losing Sean. I was devastated. Lie down on the cot. Sean and I will keep watch. Get some sleep.” Armand turned to La Salle. “We need to talk.”


Armand and Sean stepped outside of the room with the doctor. “What caused this, I know she shot him, but you fixed his pericardium? He should only be recovering from surgery.”


“Lorraine’s spittle, it was full of bacteria. She did it on purpose. Lorraine wanted him to die slowly of sepsis in case we found him and he didn’t bleed to death.” Armand’s face became hard. Rene was coming up the stairs with coffee for everyone.


“Rene, call a meeting of the council for nine this morning. La Salle, you must have a boardroom we can use. I want to put an end to this now.”
