Chapter 20

For a moment, I thought about just turning around and walking away. But the fierceness in his expression kept my feet glued to the floor. That was until he made an impatient sound and the thought of pissing him off, or worse, disappointing him had me shuffling into the room. When I stopped on the spot he’d pointed to, Trey sat back and looked up at me with a critical eye.

“What has gotten into you?”

“Nothing.” I sounded like a brat and I didn’t care.

He snorted out a mirthless sound. “That is clearly a lie. Try again.”

I shrugged. “I don’t see why it matters. I’m allowed to be in a bad mood if I want to be.”

Trey blew out a slow breath. “You are. But there is obviously something bothering you. I want to know what it is”

“Why? You don’t care.”

Quick as a flash, he grabbed me, pulled me down, and put me over his lap. I didn’t even have time to struggle before he delivered two hard smack right on my ass. I yelped and tried to get away, but he held me fast.
