Chapter 29

Aiden gave Glen a heads-up an hour before they were set to break for dinner. Bored with housework and already sick of his own company, Glen left immediately after receiving the text. He almost brought the statue with him so he could drop it off on the church’s steps on his way to the theatre, but told himself he could do that later.

As Glen feared, Aiden had more reports of Stephan being somewhat of a creeper during rehearsals. “I made sure to loudly tell the crew that you were taking me out to dinner,” he said. “Hopefully Stephan doesn’t take that as an invitation to follow us.”

“I dunno, he didn’t seem happy when I suggested we three all go out together yesterday.”

“Well, duh. If it was something we all did together, he would be stuck in your shadow and might have to admit you’re better than he is. If he just stalks us, he can wait until you go to the bathroom then show up at our table all, ‘Hey! Aiden! Fancy meeting you here alone.’”
