Chapter 30

“I once knew a guy who smashed a radio with a brick while on site because it started playing a song he didn’t like,” Kennerly had said. “I’ve already had complaints about Max and that air horn. I told him not to bother getting a replacement.”

The bad dreams didn’t go away entirely, but they weren’t full-on nightmares anymore. Glen barely remembered any details. He woke up with a mild sense of dread, but he attributed that to lingering guilt and stress and shrugged it off before he got out of bed. Since they didn’t make him bolt up in a sweat in the middle of the night or anything, he decided not to tell Aiden.

Thursday came with another dress rehearsal to get all the actors back into shape after their short break. Aiden had things to do in the morning. Another acting troupe was set to arrive two weeks after the Merely Players left, plus it was time to start planning the next year’s performances. Glen dropped Aiden off at the theatre that morning just like any other day.
