“Trust me, it’s excellent.” Liam put down the menu and leaned back, smiling at Jace. “I hope my changing our plans without asking doesn’t bother you.”

“Not really.” Jace chuckled. “Besides, it’s decidedly chillier out there today than it was last week.”

“Tell me about it. I’m afraid we’re going to see snow sooner than we’d like.”

“If they could figure out how to have snow and seventy degree weather at the same time, I wouldn’t mind.”

“That’s right. You like shoveling the damned stuff.” Liam shook his head in amusement.

“Well, ‘like’ is a bit strong. I just try to convince myself I’m exercising while I do it.”

“And it works?” Liam asked with a grin.

Jace waggled his hand. “Half the time?”

The waiter appeared just then, asking, “Gentlemen, are you ready to order?”

“The crab wontons for starters and Kung Pao shrimp, for—” Liam looked at Jace “—both of us?”

Jace nodded. “And I’d like green tea.”
