“Here is fine. It’s a nice day.” He was right. The sky was a pulsing blue and the wind seemed smooth and welcoming. A ball of golden sun glorified the afternoon without rays of beating heat

“Reason away,” I said, being polite and charming as always, never wanting to disrespect the man.

“The results came back inconclusive from the bloody helmet at Jamie Bodice’s crime scene. A battery of tests was performed on the prints and hair follicle DNA, but a name can’t be put to either.”

“So nothing came up in your system?”

He said, “Not for the tri-state area. Forensics is still playing around with the pair and might run into something valuable, but it’s most likely they won’t.”

“What other reasons are you here for?”

“Updates on anything you know regarding the two murders. Any hunches or suspicions? I have a list of names I’d like to go over with you and you can tell me if you know anything about them.”
