Xavier left the car running, and using the charger, I noticed my cell phone started to get more battery life. The time for flight departure came and went, and no Xavier. I started to worry that Ivan slipped through their fingers.
The phone rang. Touching the accept button, I heard Xavier’s voice. “I think he’s given us the slip. We looked at the manifest, and held up the plane but he’s not on the flight to Dubai. He’s flying out. We even confirmed with the real James Newberry that he has notpurchased any flights leaving the U.S. today.”
“Could he have taken a flight to Dulles? He could always purchase a ticket there.”
“Let me call you back, Jake.”
Minutes passed. Xavier appeared at the car with another agent. “Hey, we’re having another agent take this car. Let’s get our luggage out.”
“What are we doing?”
