Chapter 3

Declan tried to avert his eyes, but Ryan wasn’t that easy to ignore.

“I…we were talking about you, Ryan.” Declan huffed a breath in resignation. “Parker suspects there’s something between us. Between you and me.”

“Oh?” Ryan’s brow lifted and a moment later his eyes crinkled up—Ryan had broken into a laugh.

“What a clever lad. He’s completely right, isn’t he?”

“Ryan!” Declan snapped, and he crumpled the napkin from his lap and slammed it onto the table. “Parker means so much to me. We’ve been together for all those long years, and all of a sudden—”

“Well, you’re here with me, aren’t you?” Ryan cut in softly. “Why is that, Declan? Why is that, if you still love your boyfriend, why are you here with me?”

Declan froze and his mouth opened and closed. He wasstill in love with Parker.

Wasn’t he?

“Besides, isn’t there an easy way if you want him back? Just call him, sweetheart, I wouldn’t mind. I have no rights to destroy a relationship.”
