“I know it’s not the exact same thing, but still, maybe someday everyone will think it’s weird that anyone ever made us live in gay communities.”

“Us?” Dawn asked with a smile.

“Face it, I’m going to end up here sooner or later.”

“It wouldn’t be the worst thing that could happen to you,” she said.

“I’m going to keep track of the differences between what we learn here and in the normal college,” Adam said. “ I think it will help if I can figure out what we’re up against.”

Dawn glared at him. “You’ll get killed!”

“Are you a member of HEO, Adam?” I asked.

“No, but if things don’t get better at this college by my junior year, I’m going to transfer back home and join.”

“You’ll get arrested like Uncle Chandon,” Dawn said hoarsely.

“Adam!” a voice called.

Several guys and a couple girls, all looking about Adam’s age, stood at the edge of the yard now. Adam jogged over to them and opened the gate, and they trooped inside the house.
